Did only know him for 2 months, but he was a good guy, He had some disease and i think he could not take it anymore. Lost all his strength and size in a very short time. He was not into anabolics or drugs ether... but got a few units of growth from his doctor. He had something called fibromyalgia, which is debated to be a mental disorder. He really had uncrollable rage and would go from being happy-screaming-crying all within a matter of minut. Just rearned about this and do not know exact details. He was 23. it's a real shame...

Man that sucks, I'm sorry.
Last week a Co worker killed his wife and then himself. I felt weird about it all week. I never would have guessed that he would have done a thing like that. He's a piece of garbage for doing it but I didn't like people saying it. You think you know someone.
Sorry about your friend.
-
R.I.P
sorry for your loss brother.
-
Fuck this suicide shit. Don't bin the life God gave you.
-
So sorry to hear that.
Fibromyalgia is becoming more common, but unfortunately there isn't any one test that can diagnose it. In fact nobody really knows what it is.
I thought fibroymyalgia was similar to chronic pain disease.
Such as shame. :(
-
Chronic pain is no joke. I knew someone with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and another with fibromyalgia who both took their lives. If you've ever listened to someone like that describe the hell they live in, it's terribly depressing.
I have chronic migraines but I'm able to abort them with triptans and keep the edge off by constantly eating marijuana extracts. Met lots of people with chronic pain who turn to medical marijuana, but even with all the hardcore pharmaceuticals and up to 25g of marijuana per day it just takes the edge off, it doesn't fully alleviate the pain. It just dulls it marginally. That's not a way to live and I feel terrible to know people live like that every day. :-\
-
Sounds like he was also bipolar and left untreated it can lead to suicide.
Sad.

PIP. Condolences

rip brother

can't save people from themselves.

I read the title "offered himself"....oooops
R.I.P sad when someone does so young with soo much living ahead of them.

Sorry to hear, such a shame. A good ex-lifting buddy of mine hung himself about four years back, it always upsets me to think about it. He was a good man, 41 years old and two kids. Suicide sucks.

Modern pain management sucks, doctors always concerned about patients become addicted and always mismanage pain. Marijuana is great for pain relief, and just one more reason it should be legal. Recently here in Australia, they lobbied for medical marijuana for terminally ill patients, the old geezers knocked it on the head and refused proposed legislation for it. SIck bastards, can't even overcome their twisted biases to help alleviate the intractable pain of some terminally ill people.

So that's your halfarsed excuse for legalizing assisted suicide/murder. ROFL!

Where did you even get that from? I stated that I believe terminally ill people, those slated to die soon who suffer intractable pain should have access to pain medication (marijuana) that is effective.
And your the only excuse I need to advocate for euthanasia. Euthanising people like you would put us all out of our misery. ;D

You do understand what terminal means don't you? And you do understand that cannabis doesn't kill people right? Please tell me you're not that fucking stupid.

Fibromyalgia was a common diagnosis in the 90s. Less common here in Norway now.
Subjective health complaints involving pain and/or fatigue has been called different things, but are probably closely related to each other, with a strong stress- and depressive component.
In neurology, we had neurasthenia since the 1800s. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurasthenia). Now we have ME and other fatigue and pain diagnoses. The common factor is the lack of sensitive and specific biomarkers, combined with purely subjective symptoms.

Terminal means they're yet alive and breathing, you motherfucking moron, so you're prematurely ending their lives (before their diseases can finish the job). EVERYONE (this includes both the doctor and the patient) is destined to die at some point, there's no difference, murder is murder (taking human life), E-Numskull, I'm afraid you ARE that fucking stupid and worse, way to go you dumb shit, no wonder you're a atheist shithead, PWNED RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.

murder is murder (taking human life)
That isnt an accurate definition but carry on anyway, from your posting style I dont suppose accuracy really matters.

So, terminally ill people, which by the way doesn't mean just alive and breathing, a new born infant is alive and breathing and not terminally ill. Terminally Ill means a human being suffering from a disease that cannot be cured or adequately treated and that is reasonably expected to result in the death of the patient within a short period of time. Terminally ill people often suffer from intractable pain, pain that is near impossible to medicate away, such drugs as marijuana, which is a non lethal drug, offers some relief to these people and may even prolong their life by boosting their morale and therefore their will. So you believe such people shouldn't be allowed every possible chance at relieving their intolerable pain and extending their life, Geez, what a KUNT you are, religion has made you an EVIL fucker. I don't know where you got the crazy belief that marijuana kills people, but it is just that, yet another crazy belief of yours. Murder by cannabis use, that's a NEW one.
-
what you describe sounds familiar to me.. his "diagnostic" is obviously wrong
I always ponder in sadness how the very people who are supposed to help with serious mental issues have no clue about the mind and the affection implicitly. And they get paid really good money :-\

So terminally ill people aren't alive and breathing? Indeed this horseshit you spew is all tragic, pathetic oxygen thieves like you have left.

You are obviously a seriously demented troll, I refuse to respond to you again in this thread, as it is a serious one in which someone is sharing their tragic loss of a loved one. Only someone seriously disturbed would attempt to hijack this thread and poison it with their own sick agenda.

Sounds like he was also bipolar and left untreated it can lead to suicide.
Sad.
Agreed. On of the guys in my unit who off'd himself was diagnosed with severe Bipolar. I witnessed several switches from chill just having a ice tea to just sobbing and throwing stuff, punching walls and even smashing things over his own head to where we had to take him down. His wife even called us over a couple of times to take him to the ground and outside and spray him with the water hose... for some reason that worked. One time I even had to knock him one to get his attention.
On his meds he was.... ok. Off his meds and it only took 2 months before we found him in the garage, music blaring, guitar on his lap and the cars running. :-\
He was only 32 and left 2 very young girls behind.

Very recently someone I knew used the same means to end his life and he appeared outwardly to be living a good life. Parked his business truck in his garage, closed the door, left the engine running and sat in the drivers seat with the widows open.
Even more tragic when they leave children behind.

I'm actually in full agreement with e-kul here. This new character clearly hasn't experienced chronic pain. Before I found out about triptans, even the craziest opiates couldn't touch my pain. Static migraines can last for three days or more and when I had one longer than that, I seriously, seriously, seriously contemplated suicide. I was literally writhing in agony and there's almost nothing you can do to treat the pain. This was just an episode however, there are people with other neuralgic diseases where this level of pain is regular. I'd like to think I'm a tough cookie, but if someone had a gun I would have pulled the trigger instantly. I thought of hanging myself or bleeding myself out but didn't want to leave a traumatic scene for my family. I'm completely happy with my life and would hate to end things, but there are pains in this world which will make you beg for death.
I know people that work in palliative care and I've spent some time in there talking with patients. It is disgusting to keep them going through medical interventions in some situations. I'm all for modern medicine and exploring every single option before euthanasia, but there is a point where it is inhumane to keep someone alive simply for religious reasons. Doctors know that there are situations where they should not resuscitate patients. And it's painful and traumatic when family members and other influences push them to continue working on them. I think it's horrendous and inhumane to do that. Let them die or even help them to die if the situation is explored, palliative meetings take place and the patient is of a sound mind and can make this decision cognitively and after careful deliberation.

Fool. People who commit suicide only THINK their life is the problem. Bullshit. It isn't. The pain is the problem. Not your life. Don't fall into the dreadful (and ofttimes fatal) error of getting the two confused. Get rid of the pain by all means, not take away your precious life. By taking your life you will only COMPOUND your suffering by thereafter going to hell. So no matter what your pain is, staying alive is by far your best (and only) option.

I'll entertain the idea that you're not trolling and are sincere with your retort. What about the people who cannot relieve themselves of pain? There are plenty of people where medical interventions will not work whatsoever. I've seen people living in this sort of pain and it's truly haunting.
I also figured that people needed to dig deep and find the resolve to press on, but seeing people with chronic diseases, especially neuralgic ones, made me realize that's not always an option. I thought people were being weak, but that sort of constant barrage of pain weakens your resolve. And when it's unrelenting, that's tortuous and I don't think anyone should be forced to live if they feel that way.
I don't want to see people offing themselves in droves, but I think in certain situations we should have a framework where we address this as a society. What's stopping people from simply killing themselves in an inhumane and traumatic fashion? Nothing, really... we might as well give them our support and allow them to carry out the task with dignity. To alleviate suffering is not a sin, my friend.

There's nothing wrong with alleviating suffering but you want to mitigate the torment and not compound it. It is imperative you understand life is NEVER the problem. The pain that is invading your life is. Life is an invaluable gift from above. Irrespective of how much pain is riddling your body and/or mind, sending yourself to an eternity in hell is far worse. Think of the big picture. You should be fighting for your life, not fighting to let it go. Clinging on to the lifebuoy that is this ideal when the agony sets in will keep you afloat as you grit your teeth and steel yourself for the battle ahead. You have no choice, staying alive is by far the best option no matter how bad it gets.

I think if you'd ever seen a loved one in the final stages of cancer, you'd really understand why euthanasia is an issue. It isn't pretty. If they are young, they can hold on for quite some time
I have seen no more horrendous sight - and I can assure you, no drugs will suffice, at that moment.
It's just not a publicised thing - what happens when cancer ravages a younger person. It literally eats them alive. They don't die in their sleep, looking relatively healthy. That's the television version. Older people might go quickly.
I'm not even going to bother debating religion - that's a fools errand, I'm just saying - if you'd seen what I'd seen, you will be shitting bricks at the idea that you've got to live through what is coming. Good luck with that - I would say it is almost certainly all for nothing, but you can't convince me and I can't convince you to the contrary.

Nope. People just have to learn to deal with life. You must be mad to be advocating murder/suicide. Anyhoo the pain now is way better than offing yourself, going to the fiery pit. Think of the big picture. Life is never the issue. Pain is. You keep getting the two confused.

Well, I have a beautiful wife and daughter now so there's no way I would ever take my own life. The only reason why I'm scared to die is to leave them and to not be able to take care of them. But if I had a patient in a situation where they were in agony, I couldn't tell them no and let them live in pain. If it were my call, I'd let them die the way they want instead of forcing them to life in pain.
-

It's still suicide. You have to be firm with your principles.

A guy with Fibromyalgia? That's extremely, extremely rare. It's mostly all women who get that.

So sorry to hear that.
Fibromyalgia is becoming more common, but unfortunately there isn't any one test that can diagnose it. In fact nobody really knows what it is.
I thought fibroymyalgia was similar to chronic pain disease.
Such as shame. :(
It is. What was described sounds more like bipolar, which I've seen coincide with fibromyalgia. Note sure if that's typical though.
