So I have ditched my old diet and my new Keto-genic diet comprises of me eating half a Rotisserrie chicken a day along with some vegetables split into two meals a day.
This is ALL I eat a day apart from some Amino Acid supplements and Creatine.
Now I estimate that this comes to approximately 1500 calories a day.....BUT I suspect I am actually getting much less than that.
On the back of the chicken package label it says that each 100g of chicken is 200 calories, 19g Protein, 13g Fat and 1.2g carbs.
Also an average chicken weighs 1.5kilos (1500 grams), and I eat half of it each day.
Therefore if I am eating 750 grams of Rotisserie chicken a day, that means I am getting.
1500 calories (750g divided by 100 = 7.5 x 200 calories = 1500)
142.5g Protein.
97.5g Fat
9g Carbs.
......BUT does the back of the label INCLUDE ALL THE BONES, that I am NOT eating in the chicken????????
Also I am taking OFF the skin where all the fat is usually so am I really getting 97.5g fat?????
Hmmmm.....I suspect not.
So how do I calculate this properly????
Do I take the bones out first and then weigh the chicken meat and base it on that? ???
And what about the skin if I am taking it off???
I think I am probably getting more like 50g fat than 97.5 and probably closer to 1000 calories so should I add in a 3rd meal?????
I am starving the whole time (training twice a day) but the weight is flying off but I don't wanna lose muscle?
So what you think about this diet?

I am not doing MMA training at the moment but if I did my TDEE would easily exceed 5000 calories a day.
I'd say it would probably be closer to 6000-7000.
And no fucking way you can do Keto while doing MMA training, you would literally faint

I don't believe Keto diet needs to be "high fat" at all.
I am from the Lyle McDonald school of thinking.
I think his books are the bible on the subject.
His works got me done to 8% before and will do again, its just tough eating chicken everyday.

Why Rotisserie chicken? Why not baked or grilled chicken? Or even chicken of the sea?

So getting back on track with this thread, the only questions you need to concern yourself with and answer are as follows.
A) If I am eating half chicken a day (WITHOUT THE BONES AND SKIN) how many calories am I getting and what is the macro breakdown????

Personally, I don't worry too much about the skin, but it does add to the fat and the calories. Do this, weigh just the meat, without the skin. Then weigh the skin. Assume the skin is roughly 100% fat. Do the math(s) from there.
That'll give you a good +/- 10% on every rotisserie chicken you buy and you can plug your numbers in from there.
A scale is a really smart investment for non-Adonis dieters if for no other reason than to get a good idea what certain macro amounts look like in food.

I am not going to compare myself to a genetically elite gifted Olympian bodybuilder running grams and grams of PED's, just like it would be totally counter productive for a natty bodybuilder to follow pro/juiced up bodybuilding protocols.
Lyle McDonald went into great depth on this subject about why 90% of people/gym rats SHOULD NOT be following pro bodybuilders routines/diets/protocols.

Well cos it tastes like shit and is demotivating and not something I will stick to eating regular where as I can just about handle Rotisserie chicken cos it actually tastes good.

I only train crazy/hard/diet for 3-4 months at a time.
I treat it like fight camp.
Rest of the time I chill and enjoy life/food etc.
That means I have to be extra careful for the 3-4 months that I am dieting going balls out....everything counts in this period...no margin for error.
My balls out is extremely different from other peoples.
I'll drop calories super low and do 5-6 hours training a day.
Its a proven formula that works for me all the time.
Allows me to enjoy best of all worlds.
I am not interested in being a miserable cu nt eternally .....that is what most people don't seem to get.

You take things too literally. There is a certain guideline. Shawn is not saying you are going to get the same results as him, but he is giving you pointers. He even mentioned something to Melvin Anthony on video about how people will at the last minute eat raisins, or do something stupid to eff up their conditioning or results. Sound familiar?
You make the same mistake as millions of other people working out. You make things overly complicated them get pissed off or depressed when things don't go right. But, you are a special case. You believe if you over think things, then it will come off correct. But, in your mind you know that you are incorrect. Which is why you asked the question. You get off on doing this. It is a cycle. You get excited, then depressed at the outcome. Try and tweek it, overcomplicate again--excited then depressed.
You get off on the going thru the motions, but subconsciously you know it will not work, again. Even when told to stop over complicated things, and just be consistent, you don't listen. And then when the result that you knew would happen, you go through a slump.

Training that much is not realistic or sustainable. Something will happen that gets in the way: injury, work, family etc.
Conversely, you can always restrict caloric intake. That just takes motivation.
Whenever someone gives me the bs about eating whatever they want and "working it off," I point out the amount of time to burn 600 cals via exercise: an hour of running, compared to the amount of time it takes to eat 2x300 calorie donuts: 2 minutes.

The only people who need to get really scientific about their health are the people who are morbidly obese and are on the verge of death. Then you definitely need to be extremely methodical about your approach.
However, if you're an average "Joe" who just wants to get into better shape, then its not all too complicated.
Here is the formula:
Eat sensible + Train hard and consistent + Good genetics = Muscle growth.
Its not rocket science.

in fairness bigmc I was going back over old ground so it was just a matter of time before I got a recall. And all the time its happening people are using you to sort their stuff out for more or less pin money. Fucking stupid in fairness. However a spell back behind the door clears the head to say the least. While I was away my missus gave birth to our first child- a daughter. I missed the birth because I was back away. And thats the jolt I need and needed to turn away for good.
For that alone its time to grow up and stop doing anything soft. I have a family to protect and fend for and will put my energy into that.

Training that much is not realistic or sustainable. Something will happen that gets in the way: injury, work, family etc.
Conversely, you can always restrict caloric intake. That just takes motivation.
Whenever someone gives me the bs about eating whatever they want and "working it off," I point out the amount of time to burn 600 cals via exercise: an hour of running, compared to the amount of time it takes to eat 2x300 calorie donuts: 2 minutes.
Yeah this is so true. I remember telling my boss about how to get in shape...dude was doing spin classes, cardio. Cardio. Weights...but eating like an idiot. I was like bro, it doesnt matter one bit whAt u doin in the gym. Change how u eat and THEN u will lose weight. He did that and lost 60lbs. Diet is everything

Moderate cardio + moderate calorie reduction is the best way to lose weight imho.
Drastic implementations of both or either I think will inevitably lead to frequent binges.
