How much more time do you have left until you're sponge bathing old people in the hospital?
-
wiggs thinks he's gonna be like the nurse Buck from the movie kill bill but reality couldn't be more opposite.
showering old people, cleaning their rotting wounds.. and the smell of them :-X. 10 hours a day and 2000 dollars, not euros- a month. I'd rather be unemployed.

Many nurses make a lot more than that. The average salary is like 35 dollars an hour. I think the salary you're talking about is a nurse with a 2 year associates degree from a community college at the lowest level in the hospital and even then they still make more than 2K a month

Yeah, so you think Wiggs is going to go to the Harvard school of nursing?
-
someone told me nurses on private clinics could be up to 120k/year in the us?

mark my words, wiggs is going to be a medical assistant or paramedic at best, that's 29-31k (dollars) a year.
sure if he becomes a registered nurse he will be making over 60k a year, but I don't think so

Fact!
you're talking two jobs. that's possible with most professions. i don't know any RNs making $60/hr (124k from a single job) in the healthcare systems i contract with. new grads can't even get a job in the state.

Just a Goodrum kind of failure, he has probably already forgot about even thinking of taking that "venture".

In New Jersey my daughter is a BSN and she makes over 100. Most nurse practitioners in NJ make 130K. A nurse today is a highly technical field in medicine. A doctor in the hospital sees you for 10 minutes a day. It's the nurse who is with you 24/7 reading the blood tests getting the hospital's doctor of pharmacy to consult with over prescribed medicines. She is the one calling the doctor on your behalf when something could be done to improve your health. They also have kept many a doctor from killing the patient.
The schooling isn't easy and they most credible schools have high standards to get in.

Correct!
Here in NYC, Registered Nurses fresh out of school with a Bachelors Degree start between 80-85K. Nurse Practitioners are already making well above 130K in most PRIVATE hospitals in Manhattan.
Years ago, I used to work for a company that would provide auditing services to a few of the major hospital institutions in NY City. We used to audit their payroll division and the vast majority of RN's were making well over 100K per year with very limited over time.
If any of you guys are interested, head over to Salary.com and check out Registered Nurse vs Nurse Practitioner salaries in NYC. These suckers make a lot of money.
Physicians Assistant (the career I am pushing my nephew to pursue) also make well over $115K in most private hospitals of NYC.

Either you're trolling or you're stupid.
1) Registered nurses do not sponge and shower old people. Nursing assistants or licensed practical nurses do that stuff. That's how it is in the US.
2) My friend became a registered nurse and started pay at 78K a year in a major hospital in NYC. That is way more than 2000 a month. And if you become the head nurse you can easily make over 100K a year.
3) If you become a Nurse Practicioner, shit, you can make up to 150K a year in major cities.
Go back to being emo, little boy. You do not know what you're talking about. :-\
-
Yeah, so you think Wiggs is going to go to the Harvard school of nursing?
You don't need to go to Harvard School of Nursing. When you work for a hospital, every nurse makes the same amount. They don't start off a Harvard nursing graduate at 100K and start off another nurse who didn't go to Harvard at 40K a year lol. This is not like working for a business or law firm, where you get to drastically negotiate your salary. If you work for a hospital in NY state, everyone with the same title has the same starting pay and benefits. They don't secretly pay one person more because they went to Harvard. If one person went to Harvard Nursing School and another went to the worst nursing school in the world, and both work for NY state, guess what? Both make the same exact pay. My friend worked for a private hospital in NYC and make the same amount of pay as every other nurse, no matter what school they went to.
-
Pretty sure nurses in the US make way more than in Canada. A hell of a lot more.
And no they don't wash people, lol.... I was dating a chick who did just that as a job (funny how so many of the POF girls did that for work...) and it pays like $16hr here.
-
Wish you the best and good luck Wiggs!
-
Why don't they just have a tunnel that's like a car wash and they put 'em in one end and they come out the other all clean? Play Benny Goodman music in there. They'll love it.
Less dehumanizing than having it done by hand, too.
-

Thanks. We're particularly proud of our newest feature: The Crevice Buster, which our technicians can retrofit to your Grinning Gran Washline. Yes, with a dependability unmatched by surly sponge wielding minorities, crusty crevices will be a thing of the past.

like I said if he really is going for registerred nurse he'll be making over 60k.
good for him. we need more hebrew MALE nurses (no homo). I would trust black nurses all day, where I think white nurses are annoying, unless they are attractive female's.
oh and, you're gay

Just as a reference for those who might not be aware of this, in California most RN's fresh out of school start in the 80-90K range (See image below).
After finishing his nursing school studies, Wiggs can very easily make well over 100K during his first year with just a few extra shifts here and there at a rate of time and a half.

Fat wiggs probably forgot the idea a day later and got stoned and played on his xbox instead, the saying he wanted to be a nurse was his excuse to quit security.

Nurses make crazy good money. Devil Smile (little emo boy) needs to leave his basement more.
With overtime, nurses can easily clear over 100K. My mom tried to push me into becoming a nurse. Male nurses are in HIGH demand. If youre a male registered nurse, you can easily pick where you want to work.

The smart nurses learn how to steal the high pain meds and sell them on the street. Can bank $250K tax free cash a year.

Oh yes, it's a serious career.
Here in the USA, a Registered Nurse has to attend 4 years of college and attain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. They are required to take science prerequisite classes that are very similar to pre-med students. It's a professional degree with a lot of opportunity.
I am even more impressed with the Nurse Practitioners. They do the same 4 years of undergrad and then are required to do an added 3 years of graduate school training with their own form of mini-residency. These individuals are professionals with over 7 years of academic training, so when I hear people say Nurse Practitioners make upwards of $130,000-$150,000, I think it's well justified.
Personally, I think the Physician's Assistant route is just as good and doesn't take as long. Either way, you can't go wrong with any careers in the world of healthcare.

I think some people have this idea that nursing is like it was in the 50s and 60s. It is not. There are Techs and nursing assistants that do the shitty stuff (pun intented). It doesn't mean you'll never have to do it, it means that's not a primary responsibility like it used to be. In addition. No matter what school you go to, right out of school, you'll make the same pay unless a person is a Nurse practitioner. Nurses don't like it. The ones that have their bacherlor's can sometimes get pissed at the ones that went to community college for 2 years vs. 4 years. Understandable but whatever. I work with these people daily. I see their cars, hear about their vacations etc. They make cash and not 60k devilsmile you insolent little imp.

Wow, crazy good money ::)
If you are over 25 years old and don't clear 150k+ a year, you are laughable.
LOL!
US Census Bureau Document S1901, entitled INCOME IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (IN 2010 INFLATION-ADJUSTED DOLLARS), shows 11.8% of households having an income of $100,000-149,999. That's HOUSEHOLD not, individual. Median HOUSEHOLD income is 46k. You're an idiot.
I see you deleted your comment. Haha.

Opens a lot of doors too! I hired many PA's and RN's as clinical specialists when launching new cardiac surgical products. Many don't realize that PA's most often harvest the radial and or Saphenous vein for bypass surgery.
