In New Jersey my daughter is a BSN and she makes over 100. Most nurse practitioners in NJ make 130K. A nurse today is a highly technical field in medicine. A doctor in the hospital sees you for 10 minutes a day. It's the nurse who is with you 24/7 reading the blood tests getting the hospital's doctor of pharmacy to consult with over prescribed medicines. She is the one calling the doctor on your behalf when something could be done to improve your health. They also have kept many a doctor from killing the patient.
The schooling isn't easy and they most credible schools have high standards to get in.

Years ago, I used to work for a company that would provide auditing services to a few of the major hospital institutions in NY City. We used to audit their payroll division and the vast majority of RN's were making well over 100K per year with very limited over time.
