Seriously, I bet ronda would beat cgregor in a fight. I saw the "go big" press conference and both ronda and holly were wider, thicker and bigger than conor.

Sometimes I think that rondas said weight is bullshit, she looks like 180lbs of horses ass thickness all over

Holm, for a 'world champion boxer' is tentative and pillow fisted. I hope she knocks roused out but it's about as likely as aldo showing up in Vegas next month

This. Rousey is the best around at the moment (as much as I hate to admit it)
Id love to see her get knocked the fuck out...then a grudge ride... ;D

This was a good card until they cancelled the feature bout and made the main card a cat fight, and an uneven one at that. I live in Melbourne but wouldn't cross the road  to watch this even if it was for free.

Cyborg would beat the shit out of Rousey but Dana is no fool. Cyborg sent the last attractive female MMA star into retirement and he's not about to let that happen again on his watch which is why just as Cyborg is cutting to 140, Ronda is considering taking a long break from competition.

Cyborg isn't as good as she is hyped up to be, she would be beaten by rousey and maybe even tate and zingano

trust me, aldo hasn't got any more excuses. He won't step down.

If conor will fight a bunch of has beens like edgar and faber instead of aldo, I won't watch none of those fights. Well, I will because I ride his dick, no homo. Ronda is doing a great job in showing what happens when an elite fighter faces soccer moms, I refuse to see conor fight another soccer dad. Time for truth. But Ronda would beat conor in wrestling or all out fight, scientific fact.

Listen man, conor is training for edgar but is 'officially' still fighting aldo to prevent uproar by people who bought tickets. John Kavanagh has been told aldo won't be fighting. As to why, I don't know, he didn't tell me or any of the guys in sbg i know and I didn't push for an answer. Cowardice, injury, not wanting to fight with new advanced drug testing, not willing to fight without iv rehydration, it's anyone's guess for now. I think edgar is as hard a fight for conor as 2015 aldo

Yeah maybe if it's true. I guess I just have to believe you, I can't find shit about it. Aldo beat edgar relatively easily. Punished edgar a great deal and made him look sloppy. The world needs conor vs aldo :(

A business I co-own sponsors two sbg fighters who aren't in the ufc (yet) so I have contact with sbg a lot, all down to earth nice guys. The story is conor is training with the impression it will be edgar he is facing. I see aldos coach released a statement today saying aldo isn't injured but still tickets to be sold. I wouldn't be ssurprised if Weidman was also out with injury but that's just my personal opinion due to him being injury prone and having niggling areas.

Sucks to hear that, seriously. I mean, again. I always was a huge fan of Aldo, honestly didn't know who to root when they were going to fight, I like both conor and aldo. But this is the second time :D.

I was surprised how emotional ronda was. I feel bad for joe rogan, he was in the most shock

And the best youtube comment goes to :D:

"Dana: Look we fucked up, there's still like 20,000 seats available.
 Ronda: What? No way!
Dana: Yeah maybe we're not promoting you enough
Ronda: But I'm literally the only fighter you promote.
Dana: well fuck then, I unno, but we need you to act all angry during the weigh ins.
Ronda: Oh no problem, I'm a great actor. Didn't you seen me Entourage?
Dana: .... (awkward silence)
Rogan: I SAW IT RONDA, THEY BETTER GIVE YOU THE OSCAR. THAT WAS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME PERFORMANCE! (Jizzes Everywhere)

LOL!!!

Maybe it's just me, but I am kind of tired of the UFC over-promoting Ronda.

It's impossible to suggest that she is the best female fighter in the world when her total competition is comprised of, at most, 26 - mostly untested and relatively new female fighters. I also just love how she touts every new opponent she faces as the hardest challenge of her career thus far. The last opponent she fought had only been training for 2 years and had practically no training in JiuJitsu, for fuck's sake.

I know Dana isn't getting much bang for his buck when working with Werdum, Cormier or Weidman, but this shit has to stop already.

The UFC has become a 1-trick pony with both McGregor and Rousey serving as the proverbial jockeys.

Ronda is the Mike Tyson of MMA. Beating up on a bunch of third tier fighters and proclaiming herself the baddest woman alive while dodging Cyborg at every turn. Holm is like Michael Spinks so she'll fall over quickly but Cyborg is Ronda's Holyfield and she won't back down from the bully.

it will not take a hard shot to knock out rousey.  every time she gets hit at all her knees go.  but so far every opponent that gets a half decent shot in follows script and goes for the takedown so they can get submitted.

She has a slow head kick that isn't going to hurt Rousey.

She is going to need a great front push kick to keep RR off her, but I don't see it.

It could be over in under 30 seconds

It won't go beyond round two anyway. Holm surviving the first round will be an aachievement. And I hate rousey, would love to see a freak anderson-like injury happen her, would fucking love it.
Rousey can't take a shot man and she's reckless, tate even hurt her with an upkick, holms left head kick may connect.
Anyway we get to see joanna jerjedyjek (spelled wrong I know) and mark hunt, two fighters who are very entertaining

Yes. It was that shaky gradeschool voice you have with the principal after a recess scrap. Holm was calm as f**k is maybe why. Plus, Ronda couldn't budge her.

Not saying Holm's got a chance, but she repped herself well at the weigh-in.

The channels were offline because the prelims stream changed to the main events stream. I'm watching the links I posted now and they work fine. Here's another one:

It won't go beyond round two anyway. Holm surviving the first round will be an aachievement. And I hate rousey, would love to see a freak anderson-like injury happen her, would fucking love it.
Rousey can't take a shot man and she's reckless, tate even hurt her with an upkick, holms left head kick may connect.
Anyway we get to see joanna jerjedyjek (spelled wrong I know) and mark hunt, two fighters who are very entertaining
And to quote the wizard....its 6am here and I just woke up and can't wait to watch the fight later after the gym. The left high kick and the pig goes down

http://mmajunkie.com/2015/11/vegas-dave-and-his-plan-to-bet-10000-against-ronda-rousey-at-ufc-193

“I’ll put $10,000 on that for fun,” Oancea told MMAjunkie Radio. “I’ll put $10,000 on her every time against her and just keep doubling up, because eventually she’s going to lose – that’s my philosophy. It just takes one lucky punch. I’ll put $10,000 on her if they let me do it. I’ve got balls.”

Conservatively, if Oancea were able to get Holm at +900 and she won, his $10,000 proposed wager would pay him $90000

Being cool without trying to be cool are two differend things. I think holly holm's has it. The ability to be interesting without shouting feminist crap and showing her ass and tits for magazines and doing cool stunts to get people to like you. She can just be her calm, humble and impartial self. She's a preachers daughter after all, she knows the better side of the world.

The first people she thanked was her husband, dad, mom and she wished her brother happy birthday. I didn't see travis anywhere. And ronda also ran away embarrased from the arena. That's how much all the hype really is worth at the end. When the show stops, noone gives a crap.

Of course holly's a human being so she could want to be the hype train too later. I hope not.

She looks Down Syndromey, just wait post career when she starts packing on the pounds. If she wasn't famous, she'd be a 5/6.

a few athletes come to mind - including that swimmer michael phelps - that seem to be a little strange with the DNA.  It makes them world class fighters, training like none other, with maybe a little extra "go" when most of our brains stop our bodies.

Rousey has that look too.

It's beyond awful. It's as though she's trying to use the worst technique possible. Her striking coach, Edmond whatever should be dismissed immediately.

Ive been saying for some time that Rondas ego would get the better of her and she would try to outstrike her and possibly lose by KO. I am not at all surprised by the result, its like watching a Gracie try to stand with Chuck or JDS. The result can only go one way from there and on this evidence Cyborg would have murdered her. She should stick to what she does best, not what she thinks she does best. Her striking coach touted her as good enough to finish Holly in a stand up exchange - he should be removed from her camp immediately. You don't need "yes" people for title fights, you need people who will tell you that you have holes and teach you how to fill them.

GSP beat Matt Hughes in UFC 65 to win the Welterweight title. He lost the title to Matt Serra in UFC 69.

According to wiki:

UFC 69: Shootout was the first UFC event ever held in the state of Texas.

The card was headlined by heavy favorite Georges St-Pierre defending his welterweight title against The Ultimate Fighter 4 welterweight winner Matt Serra.

I just hope they never decide to have another UFC where both the main, and co-main events are woman's bouts.

Give me a fucking break. The only woman's draw is obviously Rousey, and that was because half of us wanted to see her lose.

The only women's match that should even be thought of for a main event is a Holmes vs. Rousey rematch. All other women's bouts should never even make it to co-main event status.

I guess there was some confusion as I just said "Matt" because I couldn't remember his last name at the time I was posting. That how much of a fluke it was. Maybe this might be the same case with Rhonda. That's why I think that whenever a champ is defeated there should be an automatic rematch. I don't think she was focused for this fight as she suddenly became a main stream celebrity and was involved in some many other projects all the while Holms was training in the most premier fighter camp in the world. I also think Rhonda really believed that she's some super woman and that nobody was even in her league. I mean, considering her past performance it wasn't a leap. Of course people say she has weak competition. But that's what they said about Holms. Rogan was especially hard on her imply that she just didn't belong there. And he, along with Chael Sonnen, even doubted her boxing record.

Anyway, well see if Holly is the real deal. And I wonder what those people are saying now when they accuse the UFC of being corrupt and the fights are fixed. Rhonda was not only a cash cow for Dana White and really promoted and put women's MMA on the map, but it seems he really likes her and they are good friends irl.

Again, I am not a fan of Rhonda and I was very pleased that she got decisively beaten. My favorite part of the fight was not the knock out but when she went for a left hook and Holly just effortlessly ducked under and Rhonda fell to her knee and bounced against the fence. She looked so out classed.

Yes, the hype for Paige VanZant (especially after the rousey loss) will become a fever pitch if she keeps winning. It's the perfect opportunity for Dana White to fill that gaping hole ( :D) in women's MMA. I'll give Paige some credit, in that she has shown she has some skill to go along with her looks.  God help us if she wins the title though. Her hype could end up rivaling Rousey's at that point.

She sure is easy on the eyes though  :P

Well, Dana now has a great future event coming up in the form of a rematch.

This shouldn't have been shocking to any true fight fan.

Holly Holmes's striking is as crisp as the best men's fighters. Easily the best standup in woman's MMA right now.

Wonder if that will translate into a long title reign?

Striking is as it should be with her, elite at the level of the best female boxers and good kickboxers.

Question is whether her true kryptonite will come in the form of her ground game.

True, but most woman (no matter how long they train) look awkward trying to throw punches and kicks. Holm looks robotic with her technique, which is the result of years of experience at an elite level, and some god given ability.

Just like some people are born with a fluid, almost relaxed HR swing like Ken Griffey Jr.

Now that she's champ, she can get top level full time bjj and wrestling training. With her athletic ability, it won't be kryptonite in a year, or two, at the most.

It took me a year to go from blue to purple belt level, and that was training part time with a full time job.

I think it's better to measure it in hours. Training 2x a week for a year, and everyday for a year are two different animals. Almost everyone you hear about who makes fast progress does the latter. At the time, I was obsessed with BJJ. I thought about it all day and night.

Training everyday for a year is certainly much more demanding and can give you more results versus training only twice per week.

You had mentioned this:

So did you only train 2x per week or did you somehow managed to train everyday?

Either way, it's a great accomplishment. There are a number of great BJJ practitioners that have been known to do such things (i.e. Jacare, Marcelo Garcia, a number of Gracies etc).

Who do you train under?

At the time, I trained at the school 3x a week, but I used to train outside with another student.

I don't take formal classes anymore. Once I got into my 40s the injuries became constant, and, I got tired of always being in pain and dealing with 25 year old maniacs jumping all over me.

Pretty much all the guys who went on and got Black Belts wanted to teach and open their own school. That was never a motivation for me.

I hear ya. Your case is just very impressive and not common at all, because pretty much all schools are not allowed to progress rank from blue to purple that fast. The International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation requires a practitioner to remain a blue belt for a minimum of 2 years (that's in their rule book). Typically, for a blue to go to purple in under a year requires destruction of major competition at big tournaments (think ADCC or Mundials) and a big push by a big name instructor.

Nonetheless, purple is an exciting belt, as it's where (at least I found) you truly start to have your entire game come together. Positioning and guard escapes come much easier and you slowly start to establish your full game (top vs bottom etc).

Opening up a school was never in my thoughts. There are way better practitioners and I'm still struggling at Brown Belt (3 Stripes). Now, I simply go and get my ass handed to me by the best black belts and sometimes by the younger, stronger and more hungrier brown belts. It's all in good fun.

Keep rollin!

She really deserved what she got. There was no reason for her to be such an a-hole at the weigh-in. She was the champ and a 20-1 Favorite. IMO, quiet confidence would've been a better approach.

Rousey has been exposed. Exactly like Tyson was. Once the aura of invincibility is gone, all of the wolves will challenge the alpha for dominance.

I see the same fate for McGregor once he loses, and McGregor doesn't even have the pedigree (champion, unbeaten) that Ronda had.

The next fight will be the most important fight of Rousey's career.

Blame Dana White and the UFC for the hype machines that they are creating. Sure they draw fantastic if they win, but they almost lose it all with 1 loss.

What a difference a day makes when it comes to the perception of a fighter.

that's what I thought.  Broken jaw early and just kept fighting.

That'd also explain why she completely gave up the ground game.  There is no rolling around with a broken face.  Just hope you get lucky with a punch and end it and sneak away with a win and deal with the broken face.

TMZ will try to get a pic of her face all swollen up.  I bet they're hiding to avoid the loss $ that kind of pic brings.

haha, Dana white is crushed!!  the bullshit reputation they've been throwing on lousy rousey has just been destroyed..    there are amazing athletes that have lost once or twice but they are still amazing, but when your total draw is that you are completely unbeatable, your total draw is gone with your first defeat.

Which is why he'll probably pay off Holly to lose in a rematch. He'll pay her 5 million to take a dive and tell her that fight 3 is when you fight for real. Rousey won't be in on the scam and she'll think she beat her in fight 2.

The biggest factor is Rousey's loss was the fact that she gassed after 2 minutes.  Literally gasping, stumbling, and hands down.  Guess her team thought there was no reason to work on cardio.   ::)

Holly has heavy hands and all those jabs hurt Rousey bad. That made her go into survival mode and all the cardio in the world wasn't going to help her because she wasn't going to get her adrenalin under control...

Following the bout, Ronda Rousey was immediately transported to a local hospital where x-rays revealed Her jaw has been broken in three different areas. Doctors began surgery just moments after. one scary thought.....   if dana is not ready to stop milking the rousey cow, he could influence the results of the Hohm PED test ( and yes i have no doubt that is well within his abilities).   it won't stop the beating from having happened, but it will return her to a pristine record due to DQ.  i hope this doesn't happen, but it's not totally impossible.

It's possible, but I also believe Dana will want to keep the Holm train going, as we know rematches typically generate twice as much due to sheer anticipation.

Ronda got outclassed in every possible way. The idea that she could stand with Holm was laughable. I am surprised she didn't retreat to the ground immediately from the start, as I think she would have easily tapped Holm out. I understand that Ronda probably wanted to "show the world" that she could hang and possibly outbox a former world boxing champion, but that was dumb as shit (pride and ego always get the best of you).

Also, if she did get her jaw fractured early on in the fight, I could partly understand why she stayed away from the ground. That said, rolling on the canvas will certainly be painful to a fractured jaw, but taking straight jabs is possibly worse.

Dana knows that with this bullshit "ReeBok deal" and the shitty payouts, no professional boxer will trade their purse for this travesty.

Even glorified journeymen that never taste true glory probably get paid more within boxing than your average UFC fighters.

I think that might have been the case, she had her mouth open bleeding and was gassed from 2 minutes in, would have to watch again but she took a peach of an elbow early on.

Ouch!

Rouseys training camp needs to be replaced.

They were out to lunch from the start. You are supposed to study your opponent, Stay away from their strengths and ensnare them in yours.

If you are Rousey, you go for the early take down.

Who the fuck trades punches with a world champion boxer if you dont absolutely have to.

I think she actually believed her own hype and there was no one around to ground her.

Fatty lasted 3 minutes and then she was gassed.

Then she took a nap to catch up on her much needed sleep

I very respectfully disagree.   everyone assumes that a submission specialist 'chooses' to stand with a striker.  but everytime rousey was within 5 feet of Hohm she got puched in the face.   they were down twice; once could be called a rousey takedown, the other was definitely Hohm taking her down. she wasn't able to submit her either time.

A quick look at her social media shows she was delusional and so were Dana and Joe Shmogan.

I like Joe. I actually like him a lot.

That said, I think he has been made into the official hype man of the UFC. When you look at the fighter promos, most of them now include a piece with Joe Rogan talking about the fighter's distinct talents, abilities and skills.

He readily throws around the term "the best pound for pound fighter on the planet".  I know that he still believes that Anderson Silva is/was the best MMA fighter of all time and, at the very least, his record can justify that, but much too frequently, Joe drives the UFC hype train.

With Ronda, I think Joe has been put in his place many times by people that visit his show. Brendan Schaub comes to mind. Schaub has told Rogan many times that Ronda is not the real deal and that while she is a good MMA fighter, her greatness is relative to the fact that the vast majority of female fighters in MMA today are unproven and have a resume that probably spans for all of 2-3 years.

In my opinion, the best MMA fighter alive right now is Jon Bones Jones. This is not because he has spent a lifetime working on this craft or even because he is so damn dedicated to becoming the best of all time, it is simply because he is genetically gifted and can also pick up shit faster than most trained fighters can.

Conversely, Holm was very well prepared. She countered Ronda's headlock throw well enough, the 1st time, to not end up on her back, and was able to defend the arm bar well enough to easily pull her arm out. The second attempt at the throw, Holm countered so well that she ended up on top.

They probably practiced that sequence, in training, endlessly.

I believe an Olympic-level Judo player can take anyone down. What I also believe is that Holm's camp was amazing and she trained endlessly to defend Ronda's key submissions & takedowns. When in the clinch, Ronda attempted to set up a takedown and it went nowhere. The Jackson-Winkeljohn combo is incredible and all the fighters they put out are beasts.

Either way, pure devastation ensued.

Honestly, I am not sure. I still do not follow women's MMA as much as I do men's MMA.

What I do know is that Holm has very good hands and footwork. If not from the striking, she would have continued to make Ronda gas to the point of pure exhaustion.

actually i dont tink that is the casey i honestly believe ronda is so arrogant, she believed her own hype,    i really think she thought she was this world class boxer.

even in judo ronda was never near the best.      ronda is a prime example of  clever matchmaking and media hype.

and even if ronda does change camps she is so far behind hold, no way she improves that much in 6 monthes

one scary thought.....   if dana is not ready to stop milking the rousey cow, he could influence the results of the Hohm PED test ( and yes i have no doubt that is well within his abilities).   it won't stop the beating from having happened, but it will return her to a pristine record due to DQ.  i hope this doesn't happen, but it's not totally impossible.

one thing that won't change, the wired jaw will keep lousy rousey's mouth shut for two months. ;D

How can Dana influence the results of a PED test? It's done independently.

Solid post.

I like Joe Rogan too but didn't understand why he was so over the top fond of Ronda. He is very knowledgeable and his judgment is usually sound so I was a bit perplexed why he was so infatuated with Rousey. Perhaps that was it and his feelings were increased because he was so physically attracted to her. She is a promoters dream and as you said part of Rogan's job is hyping up the UFC and it's fighters but he went overboard on Ronda. Interestingly he hasn't done the same with Conor, yes he has spoken a lot about him and praised him but not to the extent of Rousey. Actually I watched one podcast where Joe got emotional, he teared up and there was a break in his voice as he spoke about the barriers Ronda was dismantling, the doors she was opening for the sexes to be perceived differently. I wonder if this infatuation carries over to Holly Holm?!

IFBB? Do you mean fail drug tests or fail at the sport? Bodybuilding is a subjective sport so it's much easier for a person to get black balled. But even if a fight goes to the judges it's still often, not always, obvious who won. And of course if there's a submission/tko it's a moot point.

People like to accuse the UFC of being corrupt and fixing fights. These are not stupid people running the organization. They saw what happened to Pride. Corruption eventually gets exposed. There's a lot of disgruntled fighters out there that has a grudge against Dana. They accuse him of being unfair, ruthless, an asshole but I haven't heard anything about corruption. Not like in Pride where fighters admit they were encourage (or at least not discouraged) to juice and fights were fixed.

Good call from last night.

Following the bout, Ronda Rousey was immediately transported to a local hospital where x-rays revealed Her jaw has been broken in three different areas. Doctors began surgery just moments after. According to UFC president Dana White, Rousey Will have her Jaw wired shut for at least two months and it is unclear on when she will return.

thanks.

yeah, rousey is still a badass if she fought another 6-8 minutes with a broken jaw.  it completely explains why she didn't ground and pound.  Suddenly she only had the weaker punching option + her face was in searing pain.  The kick must have hurt like heck if her jaw was already broken.

After :45, I never see her move her jaw again.  Looks broken early.

Was, until the Yakuza took over.  Remember that the head of Pride killed himself after the corruption was exposed.

You really have to hand it to the Japanese. They really take honor seriously. In this country when a politician or businessman claims "full responsibility" it means nothing. Nobody steps down. Nobody gets fired. I remember when Janet Reno claimed full responsibility regarding the slaughter at Waco but what did that mean? Nothing. The list goes on.

BTW, I'm not endorsing people killing themselves after being disgraced or failing.

100% accurate. HOLM HAS A RECORD OF 36 AND 2 in boxing. Shes been in the fight game for 15 years, countless kickboxing fights too and her mma experience.... Rousey solid judo game but all the hype that surrounded her made her think she could stand up with a boxer. In the end it was like an adult vs a child. Almost feel bad for her, shes a victim of her own hype...After she refused to touch gloves before the fight she deserved everything Holm dished out. Embarrassing.

thanks.

yeah, rousey is still a badass if she fought another 6-8 minutes with a broken jaw.  it completely explains why she didn't ground and pound.  Suddenly she only had the weaker punching option + her face was in searing pain.  The kick must have hurt like heck if her jaw was already broken.

After :45, I never see her move her jaw again.  Looks broken early.

In between rounds she seemed more dazed then in pain.  I wonder if it went numb or something because it appears she took a lot more shots after it was broken. :D  She does spit out the water in a strange fashion between rounds.  I can't stop watching the fight!

Posted this before but it's awesome. This guy nailed it!

She received stitches inside her mouth and lip. No big deal. Her jaw was/is not broken.

I remember when that college player's tibia shot thru his leg - he said it only hurt for a second, then it went that weird warm numb.  Body was in shock, pain receptors blocked to maintain consciousness, etc etc.

Once her jaw was broken, maybe that jaw just hung, and she knew it was fcked up, but with tens of millions of $ on her staying undefeated, she just plugged thru it.   Can't open mouth, that's cool, IF she can just KO Holm and get the hell out of the ring and get shit fixed.  it's all happening so fast.

as the blood welled up in her face and she started changing colors, she looked woozy.  almost fell over a few seconds before that big kick.  Came up sideways, side to opponent, completely clueless what was happening.  She probably would have thrown in towel at the end of that period... she was barely standing at that point.  Blood pooling and that busted jaw taking more blows.

Rousey acted like a punkass.  She believed her own hype.  She got a big head.  But she was tough IF she stayed up for 6-8 minutes with a shattered face, broken jaw, or something huge like that.  Her face was broken long before that brutal kick that ended it.

Dana White is a hardcore gambler...No problem throwing down $100,000 bets in black jack. You don't gamble like that if you aren't crooked. Michael Jordan was also a hardcore gambler. MJ was told to take a year off at the height of his basketball career because he was fixing games with refs. The commissioner basically suspended MJ for a year. That's when MJ said he was going to try to play major league baseball...Ya right, the guy absolutely loves basketball and couldn't get enough of it. Yet we were led to believe he wanted to go play baseball. UFC and Dana without a doubt have the ability to manipulate drug testing with pay offs. Independent testing doesn't mean someone won't take a pay off.   They're coming out now saying Holly Holms had to take 2 drug tests because he first test was too watered down. That information is leaked on purpose by someone from the UFC.

He throws down money like that because he has it. The average pathological gambler throws down way more percentage wise of their income and grow broke. As William Bennet said when he was blasted for gambling, "I'm blowing the lunch money."

I didn't know that being a big time gambler automatically makes you corrupt. And I don't know how easy it is to pay off everybody and buy off the whole drug testing organization. It's not like the same doctor draws the blood and everything goes through his hands. When I take a blood test it is immediately taped over, marked and sealed. A person I know who does compete in MMA said that he also has to initial the label containing his blood. And I'm not sure how easy it is for the doctor to take the vial to a private area, and switch it with tainted drug infested blood (where would he get that and store it?) and then send it out. Or maybe they have to locate each time a drug is tested who is actually doing the testing and pay them off. And the notion that everyone is corrupt and would always keep their mouth shut.

Corruption eventually comes out. Someone is going to talk.

The UFC would survive and be prosperous no matter if Rhonda won or Holly. Same with everybody else. Corruption will eventually catch up with them. The UFC doesn't need to cheat  to succeed. They already have. No one fighter carries the venue. And there's constantly new faces (and old) coming on the scene to stir things up.

what about lance armstrong??  there is no way in hell he could pass 7 years of  tour de france blood testing without cooperation from the federation.   if he was drugged and passing the tests on an ongoing bases it is because they were in control of it , not the athlete.

I don't know. He was caught. Why would the Federation give him a pass but not others. Why would they risk being exposed? Why hasn't Lance Armstrong said anything. His life was ruined because of it.

Also, I don't think it was as huge an issue as it is now nor do I think drug testing was as sophisticated. Marion Jone and others passed as well. You have to look for a specific compound and she was using one that was developed specifically to pass a drug test. Maybe Lance was doing so as well. I don't know if there's ever been a case where the testing organization was found to be corrupt. You would think someone would have said something by now.

It's really a moot point anyway. People will always believe there is corruption and the game is fixed when things don't do their way. As long as they keep watching and paying it really doesn't matter. Unless someone can actually prove something it's business as usual.

Most fighters get on social media and show their ass beating if they get one. It's part of promotion after a loss really.

I will be surprised if RR ever fights again. There are not enough tomato cans out there at this point and I would say that Holm winning will bring other tall, in-shape kickboxer types into MMA.

They billed these two as the same height if you remember. That's how complete the RR hype was.

Holly Holm's endorsement of company linked to banned supplements questioned

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ufc/2015/11/16/holly-holm-ronda-rousey-supplements-banned-usada-wada/75894096/

When Holly Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey Saturday night at UFC 193, one of the most conspicuous congratulations came from Intel Pharma — not for what it said, but for what it is.

The Texas-based company, one of Holm’s sponsors, sells supplements advertised as containing substances that are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). UFC's independent administrator of its doping protocol is the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which adheres to WADA rules and regulations.

“Congratulations,’’ read a message on the homepage of Intel-Pharma’s website. “We always believed!’’ On the company’s Facebook page, supplement seller JAK Nutrition saluted: “Congrats to Holly Holm and Team Intel-Pharma!!’ Check out our full line of Intel-Pharma products!!”

At JAKnutrition.com, four Intel-Pharma products for sale are labeled as Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMS), considered steroid alternatives and on WADA’s banned substance list.

Questions surface over Holly Holm’s ties to steroid pushers

http://nypost.com/2015/11/17/questions-surface-over-holly-holms-ties-to-steroid-pushers/

It’s already time for Holly Holm’s first title defense.

Holm, the former pro boxer who stamped herself as a UFC superstar by dethroning the seemingly invincible Ronda Rousey on Saturday night, is being scrutinized over her sponsorship deal with a supplement company that makes steroid-laced products.

According to USA Today Sports, Intel Pharma sells at least four products labeled as Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators. These steroid alternatives are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which sets the anti-doping rules and regulations used by the US Anti-Doping Agency, UFC’s drug program administrator.

OK, so now a supplement company that endorsed Holly AFTER they discontinued the product in question are now "Steroid Pushers"?

I wish Intel Pharma would sue the NY Post for slander. Has it been proven that their products were "steroid laced"?

Gaspari sponsored Rousey years back. Gaspari put Pedo related substances in their products...

Great video

I thought Rousey was annoying but the guy in the video needs to get a life.
Most of the pre-fight trash talk is staged to sell the product...Rousey did not really think she could beat any man in a fight. Her no name training partners would destroy her.

I believe it is the same with marquee athletes in any sport.   a swimmer that trained at my gym competed in the 88 Olympics in korea. he said  an official came running out and said ' one Canadian and five Americans failed the drug test, including carl lewis!!'

when the press conference happened an hour later it stated that ben Johnson of Canada was the only athlete to fail.

years later lewis admitted to peds

You make great points. They should just get rid of the drug bans and just make it a free for all. Do whatever you think you have to do to win.

what about lance armstrong??  there is no way in hell he could pass 7 years of  tour de france blood testing without cooperation from the federation.   if he was drugged and passing the tests on an ongoing bases it is because they were in control of it , not the athlete.

The UCI you mean. Lance actually tested positive once during a race in Switzerland, but the positive was covered up. Some French sports newspaper did retro-active testing of his samples years after he started winning the Tour and all the samples came back positive for EPO.

His story was too good to be true. The main issue was that he was throwing around a lot of money and no one had the guts to take him down.

The French seem to go after users. A few months after Ian Thorpe 'retired' it was revealed he failed a test through the French. He pretended to sue them to save face and say he didn't.

Definitely not, the staged claims comes from Rhondas PR team and her fans.

There's already several threads on sherdog/UG forums on that issue. Just look up how many bridges Ronda burned in her Judo career, also  her mother thinks Edmond is a POS and treats other girls in the gym like crap.

you can post your Staged claims here: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/yo-edmond-come-here-she-says-i-dont-know-how-hit-pads-video-3112375/  I'm sure you'll find the answer.

I could never wait to see her lose.   way too arrogant, ignorant, disrespectful and one the the poorest sports mma has ever witnessed.  and when people tried to hit her, they could, and her opponents would initiate the takedown, handing her the fight.

I have no idea about the other stuff but those UFC shows are staged.

Of course there's a format but the personalities are real. I personally know, train, socialized with two people who have been on that show. B.J. Penn and Andy Wang (who was on the TUF with Penn/Pulver).
They confirmed it's real but do edit to suit their narrative. That's why Penn didn't come off so well when he was on the show with GSP. Everyone knows GSP is a stand up guy so they cherry pick moments when Penn was trash talking and tried to pump that up to create controversy. Good guy/bad guy always sells.

Of course you are always going to be conscious when a camera is on you and try to play things up. But to think that Dana tells them: "OK, act you act like this and you act like that." Is false. Just like he doesn't tell the fighters how to act. Holly is going to be the same Holly before she became famous. Connor is going to be Connor building interest in his fights because that's what he wants and not  because Dana tells him. But Connor is still cocky and supremely confident and will always try to play with your head and Uriah is still Uriah, kind of taking things in stride as is shown on the current TUF. Nobody is telling Connor what to say and nobody is telling Uriah how he should respond.

With all the training that Rhonda does, and every UFC fighter is training their asses off, she is still chunky only looking decent when she starves herself for the weigh in. But note how much fatter she gets just from the weigh in to game time.

I don't know. Despite all the trash talk she's getting she is a world class athlete and tough as nails and her ground game is superb. I once rolled with a juiced up (as least she looked it) girl from Brasil that was a Black Belt. She weighed around 165 lbs (so she said) I was a purple belt at the time. We were just training so I kind of held back and out of respect didn't try to submit her. Just keep the game going. The thing that struck me was how weak she felt and how I could at pretty much any time submit her.

Strength matters a lot and men are just waaaay stronger than women especially in the upper body. The scrawny and frail Nate Diaz would easily crush RR and the fact she was talking about beating Cain Velasquez shows how delusional she got.

But I'm convinced she'll be back and more determined than ever. She'll forget trying to stand with Holly and just try to get it to the ground. As superior as Holly is in stand up, Rhonda is just as superior on the ground.

I still hope that HH destroys her again. She seems like a much better person and a much better role model.

Hate this wigger.

The thing that impressed me the most about holy in that fight besides her great ass was the way she handled the clinch. She got double under hooks around Rhonda at one point and actually took Rhonda down. It was a belly to belly takedown. Rhonda did get her down one time Holy got her arm out right away and popped back up. Holly is a very legit athlete. I think she is everything Rhonda was suppose to be. I hope she keeps improving  her ground game because her stand up is truly world class.

I rarely click on youtube links here and when I do it's only because it's less than 20 seconds. I saw this one was over 20 minutes but still decided to give it a try. It was great! I'll check out the other one later today.

BTW, and this is not directed at you, but I hope people don't do to Holly what was done to Rhonda. I'm starting to hear a lot of hero worship, clit hugging and "once in lifetime" talk. I also immediately got the vibe from Ronda.  Did you see her in the TUF series were she coached alongside Meisha Tate.  The woman was a complete legit cun+, absolutely classless.  I remember my girlfriend at the time jumped on the Rousey bandwagon, and I was like, how can you worship such an arsehole, my opinion of my girlfriend went down after that.  I couldn't believe how easily another woman could overlook such obvious personality defects all because Ronda knew a few jujitsu moves and seemed tougher than the average woman.

I did see it, she went over board with it. I was on the rousey bandwagon...  :'(... but, I guess it was the believer in me. However, I'm also a man of impartial truth, or universal truth or whatever you want to call it that applies to everyone and she obviously has ego/personality issues. She was also proven to be hype. Yes, it was the TUF show that turned me off to her. I don't think, as some claim, that the show is all stage. This was her personality. Crass, vulgar, poor sport whether in victory or defeat and her tendency to be fat  ;)

I never said, insinuated, or implied that people hated RR because she won. In fact, it was just the opposite. People are far more prone to over look personality defects if you are a winner. There was a lot of hero worship on this board for RR before she lost.

And you make a good point. One of the things that made her almost contemptible was how ungracious she was even when she won. I remember the five year feud, even hatred, between BJ Penn and Jens Pulver. All was forgotten after they fought. As soon as Jens' tapped it was like all this pent up fury on both sides was released. They had their show down and it was a fair fight and no question as to the outcome. It was over with mutual respect on both sides. There's honor in that.

In fact, Jens would later come to Hawaii to spend some time training with Penn

Ronda Rousey Says She Felt Suicidal Right After Holly Holm Knocked Her Out

On today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show Ronda Rousey gave her first talk show interview since getting knocked out by Holly Holm, and things got extremely real. In the clip below, Rousey talks about how she was basically out on her feet after the very first exchange with Holm, and reveals that she felt suicidal immediately after the loss.

Here’s the whole quote:

I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself, and that exact second I’m like, “I’m nothing. What do I do anymore? And no one gives a shit about me anymore without this.”

To be honest, I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.

It may be hard to believe that someone as successful as Rousey would actually feel like killing herself in that moment, but getting knocked out can do strange things to a fighter—doubly so for one like Rousey, who’s been doing nothing but competing and winning at a high level since she was a teenager.

Here’s the whole quote:

it wasn't the knockout that messed with her brain, it was being exposed as a total and complete fraud.

I didn't think I could detest her more than I already did, but it turns out that every time she opens her mouth she gives more reason to dislike her.

"I need to have his babies, I need to stay allive"

I guess that's a female thing, because a woman once told me, that when she was 25 and married, but child free she instantly wanted to have kids very badly when she hit her head on the ground and was hospitalized for a week because of it. In the hostpital she just realized that "I need to continue, I need to have babies now".

You know who else feels that way? Satan, and it can't be a coincidence.

ronda is a confused individual now.

She still is that chubby piggy girl in highschool who wasn't like the other girls. She never really worked that out, instead she turned herself into a judo machine and later a fighting machine. Then she gets an explotion of fame and fortunes, and then BOOM she's faced with the fact that she isn't even that good of a professional fighter, neither.

You either rise up from that or you don't rise up from that. It took Mike Tyson two decades to stand up after douglas beat him.

I mean ROnda isn't a superwoman. She's a person who built a wall of success infront of her insecurities, then her success crashed down and she's now faced with her undealt insecurties again. That's how I see it anyway but I don't know for sure.

Wasn't Travis the married guy to the fitness model that Ronda started seeing while they were married?

Typical reaction of someone who's spent every waking moment lying to herself - and surrounding herself with people that will lie to her - and is suddently faced with reality when the dream collapses.

And what keeps Ronda from killing herself because of this cruel reality? She needs to have her man's babies... I'd have imagined this would have led to a murder-suicide. :-X

She can choose to  lie to herself and deny reality. What does she say about Holly? That Holly didn't win because Rhonda "chooses" not to believe she won? Reality is what Ronda chooses it to be.

I hope Holly really shatters RR's jaw. Then I can hear her say how she chooses to eat through a straw.

So is she going to turn into a breeder now? Somehow I don't see the family life working out either, considering both have a supposed history of domestic abuse. I also doubt this would be good for her career progression, considering the added pressure of familylife. Which would eliminate a future in the fighting game. And considering she's really not all that attractive and can't act for shit, with her body probably declining fast as well, I don't see her acting career taking off either. Aside from some B-movies in the future.

Holly Holms single handedly killed off Rousey.

Oh Great.  Feel suicidal, have kids. Doesn't anybody give a fuck about children?  How about thinking how you will impact on some innocent child's life.  Why is it the people who will most likely make the worst parents never ask themselves if they should actually become parents?

She can't act and everyone hates her and now she's been knocked out bad and lost her championship, I reckon the whole Hollywood thing will be short lived. I also think Holm will smash her again if they do fight in November

Head case plain and simple. Wants to kill herself for losing then says I didn't lose. How bout saying the Holly fought a great fight and I'll be back.
