Try to find a path to 100% so that I can really step on the gas and reinjure myself. It's a vicious cycle.

Eat better, train consistently, and lose about 40 pounds (go down to 200)

I've lost more weight then that before, so I know I can do it. I think I overdid it before. I went from about 245 to 175, but I think I lost too much muscle, due to mostly aerobic exercises, and cutting too much calories.

Some people thought I was sick. I felt great, but talk about a buzzkill.

I agree mate, They can be a fuck on for a lot of people, I prefer them but mainly as for years it was the only way I had of doing shoulder pressing.
Just always made them a second thought behind benching ect and want to make it main focus this year.

Had a wasted year training partly to fucking around and a few real life problems getting in way.

I have a few ideas of what I want to do.

I honestly like finding some of those 12-16 week routines and doing them.  Sometimes they have things to do that you normally wouldn't and you discover new and more efficient exercises as a result.

I think I'm going to drop weight, work on endurance more, and embrace the whole lifting for heath thing.

I'm at one of those crossroads where even though it still appeals to me, the whole chasing numbers, and eating for it, etc.... just isn't that appetizing anymore. Also the past few years, I've watched a lot of the guys I admired as a kid have health problems minor and major as they get into their late 40's - 50's, and that's weighed on my mind.

Training wise - moderate set(8-12), moderate rep(8-10), faster tempo, moderate intensity (70 - 80% most days). Cardio - boring steady state stuff, a few days a week, 30 - 40 minutes.

I`ve made a great comeback after taking 15 months completely off and eating a ton of shit for that same length of time.

Lost at least 5 inches on my waist without gaining or losing a pound.

Now it`s time to get my eating in perfect order as I have been doing OK,but know that if my diet was on point,I`d look a zillion times better.

I think I've finally found a diet that can keep you lean year 'round without making you miserable.

Carbs 3 on, 4 off. The on days in the 150-200 gram range; the off, carbs only from veggies. It averages out to about 100 grams a day.

It's basically carb cycling done in a way where you don't go too long without having some fun food.

That`ll work great!!

Also,if you feel that is too restricting or Spartanlike,I find that if I`m eating clean on M.,T.,Th.F.,I can have a cheat meal on Wednesday, and an all out cheat day on one of the weekend days and still stay ripped/lean.

On the other weekend day,I would eat clean once again.

Yup!!

Great advice,I always tell people that the fat they put on wasn`t an overnight thing, and that taking it off should be a fairly slow process also.

They always ask how much weight they can lose in a certain time period, instead of just enjoying the journey as opposed to arriving at the destination in record time.

They're more in love with the possible results, than the tough challenge, which is a mentality issue that serves as a good validation whether they have the right mindset for staying in the game long term.

Yup,it`s a journey and at times they forget that it`s going to take hard work and dedication to diet and training.

You`re right,if I do win the card, which I should have won in 2011 (long story but got stranded travelling to the contest),I`ll try a few pro shows just for the hell of it,but most of the NABBA pros are a lot younger than me,but it would be fun just to say that I did it.

Sucks to hear about that traveling shit. I don't know the NABBA that well, so I was thinking they also had pro masters shows (@ all BB federations: take notes!). It actually makes no sense to give a masters competitor a pro card; it's more a symbolic thing :-\

No, you know exactly what I mean. What's the point of lifting regularly/seriously when you don't look like you lift?

You have been lifting for so long, and you honestly have nothing to show for it. Who cares how much you can deadlift when you look like Bert from Sesame Street.

You are probably at least 20% bodyfat, and have the gall to judge others on whether or not they lift. If anything, the jokes on you pal.

Shizzo,

I am going to try to finish the new year off by being more positive here.

You really should focus on improving yourself rather than pointing out someone's physique and other flaws especially when they have a better one and are alot stronger(which is what Chaos trains for anyways)

You said you stopped the drinking, well widen those delts and improve on what you have got.

99.999999999% of the people here, even the ones that look good, would and will never win anything today beyond a local nightclub contest, you me and chaos included. Yet you're not focusing on improving yourself.

workout consistently with no drinking or excessive junk intake and no stupid training and tell me you won't look and feel better at the end of 2016 than you do right now.

want to be a mod, then start living like you think a mod should be here

Remain injury free. I'm already doing more machines, got no choice.

Same here, and go lighter. Fucked up elbow.  :-\ :-\

No specific goals, better go think about it and write some down.

I'd just like to be able to train without constant, agonising pain. Shoulder, knee, back... something is always fucked, and hurts so much I wince moving the joint.

I train high volume, high rep - maybe if I quit the drink and sleep more it will help.

Increase work capacity, cut fat a little, and be more organized with workouts.

Sorry, Shizz, but these are the kinda posts that illustrate your absolute ignorance of weight training. To the extent that you truly disrespect long, good standing, lifelong lifters on this board.

Lifting/training/bodybuilding has NEVER been about where you ultimately end up musclewise x years later. But your posts make it painfully clear you couldn't possibly understand this. Lifting HAS ALWAYS been about doing/feeling better that day, that week, that month.

These guys - aj, chaos, and everyone else you disrespect with your misguided critiques - they don't train for how they will measure up thirty years from day one; no one does. The fact that you suggest this simply belies your utter obliviousness to what training is really about. These guys LOOK and FEEL better every single time they enter the gym and progress even the slightest bit, which is obviously beyond you by your own admission. Lotsa balls cutting 'em down for such pettiness, pal.

Do you have any idea how amazing these guys felt/feel after every attained micro/macro - strength, size, conditioning, whathaveyou? How could you, right? The magic of bodybuilding is that you're succeeding in some way EVERY SINGLE TIME you train. And we/they feel said accomplishments daily; we see it on the scale, in the mirror, at the end of a set, etc. - How on earth do you think we maintain the passion?

Bodybuilding has always been a workout by workout endeavor, and each session offers results encouraging enough that we continue to pursue. Again, you make it blatantly obvious that you've never put in the time or effort to hardly grasp what we share here in that regard. aj, chaos, and so many other have looked and felt like a million bucks day-in-and-day-out for YEARS (what you fail to comprehend) specifically as a result of the training that you so casually dismiss as pointless.

Friend, you haven't the slightest clue: IT'S ABOUT THE LIFTING. THE PROGRESS, HOWEVER SLIGHT. THE PASSION TO FOLLOW UP THE NEXT DAY. They've felt better every single day of their training years than you've ever felt in your whole life - precisely because of the weights. Please, sir, don't criticize what you can't possibly understand.

Just to clarify, not at all intending to bash Shizzo just for the sake of it (not my style, Shaun, we're usually fine), but this shit is SO out of line on a bodybuilding site, especially when you admittedly refuse to partake. Won't say you owe them an apology, but it'd certainly be big of you.

Was this post a mistake, or did you intend to try a hammer your point in by posting this in multiple threads?

When did I ever refuse to partake in training? In fact, I have started training again. Take a look at post #12 in this thread, that hardly sounds like someone who refuses to train or lift weights.

P.S. You are mistaken if you think I know nothing about dieting and exercise. Consistency problems over the years? Now that would have been a valid point.

Didn't Wes (who's physique actually shows the dedication he puts in) take like a year off training? Proof that shit happens to even the best.

I'm sure you can relate, Ugly.

Stay injury free!

I had a triple hernia operation in 2015.
Take this year off and try for the quadruple in 2017.
