MURDERED WHILE JOGGING Google manager, 27, is raped, killed and set on fire while running in woods near her mum’s home
A police K-9 unit located her body 7 hours after she failed to return from her jog in what were described as 'horrible circumstances'
A GOOGLE manager was found raped, murdered and burned after going jogging near her mum’s home.
Vanessa Marcotte was last seen at 1pm on Sunday in Princeton, Massachusetts when she went for a run.
Cops with sniffer dogs found her body at 8.20pm the same day about half a mile from her mum’s house in what they described as a “horrible set of circumstances”.
The 27-year-old was discovered with burns on her hands and feet and police were investigating a sexual assault.
Massachusetts State Police have now launched a homicide investigation and currently do not know if it was a random attack or not.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said: “People should be concerned, we are asking them to use an abundance of caution.
“We have a horrible set of facts, horrible set of circumstances and we are going to do everything we can to make sure that this investigation is carried out.”
He added:“We are asking the residents of Princeton and surrounding areas to use an abundance of caution. We are asking the public to be careful and to be vigilant.
“This was a woman who was out walking and jogging on a rural road, we’re asking people in town to use an abundance of caution.
If that means travelling with other people if you’re out, if you’re going to be running or jogging, we’re asking people to do that.”
Princeton Police Chief Michelle Powers said, “We are concerned about the safety of our town residents and the visitors that enter our town.
“We would ask people to pay attention to their surroundings.
“If you see anything suspicious or out of place, please contact the Princeton Police Department or the Massachusetts State Police.
“If you’ve seen anything in the past 24 hours that appeared suspicious or out of the ordinary, please contact us.”
Ms Marcotte worked for Google in New York City having graduated from Boston University in 2011.
Spokesman for the university Colin Riley told F0X25: “We’re so terribly sad for her family and friends. They’re in our thoughts and prayers.”
She had worked for Google for nearly two years and her employer released a statement saying: “Vanessa Marcotte was a much loved member of the Google team, working in our New York office for the last year and a half, and known for her ubiquitous smile, passion for volunteer work and love of Boston sports.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends.”
Before she began working for the tech giant the 27-year-old worked in marketing for Vistaprint.
Vistaprint said in a statement: “We are shocked and heartbroken to hear the news about Vanessa.
“She was always incredibly friendly and positive, and her smart, creative and innovative approach to work made a huge impact here at Vistaprint.
“She truly cared about those around her and always made an effort to forge strong relationships.
“Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
While at university she wrote a blog in which she said: “I am a Public Relations major with an extreme interest in all things Internet-savvy.
“To get a little technical, I am passionate about business strategies like SEO, Analytics and Inbound Marketing (just to name a few) and hope to develop these skills further and make them a focus in my future career.”
The rural town of Princeton has about 3,500 residents and is 40 miles west of Boston.
DA Early says Marcotte grew up in nearby Leominster.

Very pretty young woman. Which is always nice for media.
Unbelievable that someone can commit such a horrific crime.

Background of the culprit?

Hopefully, whoever did this will be dead soon

Something else like this happened in New York City a few days ago. Women was jogging and raped and viciously murdered. But it had to be personal. She was bludgeoned to death. This has personal written all over it. Most attackers wouldn't stick around that long to kill someone.
The family of a young woman found dead in Queens is speaking out for the first time since her death.
30-year-old Karina Vetrano disappeared after going for a run in Howard Beach Tuesday.
She was later found by her retired-firefighter father in the neighborhood's marshland.
Police say she was sexually assaulted and strangled.
Speaking outside their home, Vetrano's parents called their daughter a force to be reckoned with and her killer, a coward.
"My daughter was a big believer of karma and as you can see she’s magical," said Vetrano's mother. "The whole world knows she magical and I guarantee you, you will pay."
"Justice will be served, okay," her father said. "That's why we have the PD. That's why we have God. Justice will be served."
-
Same sorta thing happened in Queens a bit less than a week ago too, Snatched right off the trail -

When are women going to learn. She most likely had a routine of running at the sMs time, her killer saw the pattern and went for it. Women running alone is just plain stupid. At least be with one other person, a large dog and possession of a handgun with good training. Never run at the same time every day either.

It's very sad that women have to be on guard like this. The women in NYC was running at night. Always try to run in a crowded park during the day time. Its the same thing they tell women when going to clubs or bars, etc--always go to the bathroom with another person.

Or don't run on roads period.
I knew a girl that was in her 30's that got killed by a drunk driver at 7am. She was on the correct side of the road, dressed in bright colors w/ reflective decals. Didn't matter. Roads are dangerous. People texting, drunk drivers, sexual predators...

Jogging in the streets in broad day light in a major city is not a problem. Its the same thing in NYC.
Its when you jog to more secluded areas, like parks, when it becomes an issue.

This^ They make an easy target for most predators - alone, probably a bit tired already, not paying attention, etc.

This is why women should carry guns.

i'm a 40 year old man, 200 pounds with some wrestling, TKD, and getbig posting experience of 15 odd years.
And there's no way in hades I would EVER go running in some random park or "woods" without a gun. I'm not worried about the rape/afire, but I am worried about random robbers or running into a person out dumping a body who doesn't want any balding lookie-loos like me making waves.
If you're 27 and hot and female, you shouldn't go to the mailbox without a weapon. The world is just too crazy.
-
The one from New York was definitely hotter (I'm too lazy to post pics).
-
Boston is not that far from NYC this could be the same perp

1000 years ago, I wouldnt' check the mail without a spear or ax, in case some Viking was trying to skin me.
500 years ago, I would keep my sword handy in case some squire wanted to steal my horse and leave me stranded.
200 years ago, I would keep my musket handy in case some cowboy decided to hijack my pony express.
Today, I keep my glock handy in case some random junkie or just plain crazy person decides to attack me.
At what point in history have you felt truly 'safe' when jogging in the woods, a secluded area where you control nothing, and there is nobody around to help, if you are in fact attacked? I keep a spare tire in my trunk... I'm not 'scared' of road hazard, just prepared.

I said nearly the same thing to a bunch of chicks i know who are fit etc and they all were pissed off at me for "mansplaining" things to them.
I was like - if I wont go in these places at night wearing combat boots, weight vest that looks like a plate carrier, a big ass knife, veings popping from all over, rolling through like steamroller - why would you think its ok? Then they are all upset saying its not fair they have to be so afraid all the time blah blah blah.

Lol at life isnt fair.......
People need to be honest with themselves. They need to realize what the percentage of unbalanced lunatics that we unknowingly cross paths with everyday. Then you're just playing the odds.

it's a scary world. Maybe it does feel better to tweet pics of your latte while #feelingthebern and driving a Prius to their liberal arts classes while tweeting cleavage selfies for likes.
I don't see it as living scared at all. It's being aware of how the world really is. I'm absolutely not scared when I walk at night with a glock - I enjoy the walk much more, knowing the outcome is very high that I get home from this walk.

TRUE!
You never know if the guy you just held the door for at the gas station just sliced up his girlfriend and is at the end of his rope, or the old man you nod respectfully at is dying of ass cancer and just looking to kill one little punk ass before he dies.
Psychopaths make up about 1 percent of the general population and as much as 25 percent of male offenders in federal correctional settings, according to the researchers. Psychopaths are typically profoundly selfish and lack emotion.

although she was jogging alone I bet she had the lululemon Sports Bra, hair in ponytail and the lulelemon tights that make her ass magnificent plus those fluorescent Nike running shoes. She was like rape bait running alone. I see chicks jogging alone all the time in about $500 worth or running apparel. Who are they looking trendy and sexy for? Why draw the attention to yourself?

so if she had been wearing old sweats she would have been safe?

so if she had been wearing old sweats she would have been safe?

Probably not. Its not the outfit choices as much as the presenting an opporttunity to a criminal.
Fit white chick running alone in the woods - in sweats or sports bra? who cares - if a criminal can get her alone out of sight and out of ear shot - she is in a lot of danger

so if she had been wearing old sweats she would have been safe?
This is going to sound terrible.... but I think that if she was fat & ugly she would've been safe

I hope they find the retards who did this to these beautiful girls and stick them where they belong, having Bubba bang 'em in the azz...

this new generation didn't grow up with a war. I mean, Iraq was mainly robots and drones after the initial occupation, so the 25 year olds today were 12 when we briefly had men in harms way daily.
I bet she took time to snapchat before running, but didn't bring any sort of self defense device. Even a small blade is enough to wing the guy so there's blood on the ground, and even if he stick around to kill, there's no rape/fire, as he might be bleeding out too.
This generation thinks being vigilant is a bad thing. it's not.

I find it funny when I see people who are so concerned with the Lottery (money version) and get depressed when they continue not to win.
What about the lottery of life? We all take so many things for granted. We should be grateful for waking up in the morning, and making the most out of each day. You win the lottery everyday that you remain alive.
-
so if she had been wearing old sweats she would have been safe?
Yup. Looking ugly makes you less appealing and less likely to be targeted. Just the way the world is.

Isn't Mass one of those extremely Liberal States? So when the media/cops say if you seen anything that appeared suspicious in the last 24 hours, they only mean that if the person being suspicious was white and not Muslim or black looking...

A man running alone in a dangerous area most probably get robbed or beaten up, if a woman was found alone she will be at least gang raped, because for a sexoual predator the value of a helpless woman is the same for some thug stealing 100k cash that you had stashed in your house............woman have tremendous value for them because they are be able to satisfy their sick needs............

Not sure what makes a man rape a woman and then set her on fire. What I don't understand is a society that feels a man like that should be left alive in prison instead of cut into pieces and fed to a pack of dogs on live tv

Kahr PW9. 380 and very light. Easily carried with jogging clothes.

NYC doesn't allow concealed weapons if you have a permit?
-
NYC doesn't allow concealed weapons if you have a permit?
Yes, but its almost impossible to get. You have to have a VERY specific reason and STRONG need for carrying a weapon. For example, you're a diamond dealer who transports diamonds often or you're a bank guy who transports/carries large sums of money. Stuff like this. Other than this, no one will get a concealed carry permit in NYC. Basically, the only people that are issued CCP's are the people with security details. Citizens cannot carry in NYC like you find in New Hampshire or Texas.
"In New York City it is nearly impossible to get a pistol permit without some kind of hardcore need," said Tom King of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. "Getting a concealed carry permit is almost impossible in the city unless you are a politician, a celebrity or very, very wealthy."

If she had been lifting instead of running this wouldn't have happened.

Anybody checked if there are muslims in the area yet?

Kahr PW9. 380 and very light. Easily carried with jogging clothes.
Take a look ladies.
Not bad, but known for being inconsistent... Ruger LC9, a much better choice...

I find it funny when I see people who are so concerned with the Lottery (money version) and get depressed when they continue not to win.
What about the lottery of life? We all take so many things for granted. We should be grateful for waking up in the morning, and making the most out of each day. You win the lottery everyday that you remain alive.
Stay gold, Pony Boy.
That's crazy talk. Anyone would prefer the $100,000 for sure. 100k would be the top prize that all the contestants on To Bribe A Predator are holding out for.
-

Ruger LC9 is another excellent choice. For women to carry daily they usually swap size for stopping power. I suggested the 380 because it's easily concealed in tight clothes. Anything is better than nothing when you need it.

I would NEVER ever let my wife or daughter go running off into the woods on her own like that.
MEANWHILE Feminists with their slut walks encourage single young women like this, to foolishly believe it's their RIGHT as strong independent women to wear just about next to nothing (anywhere) without any fear of consequence or risk.
Poor girl Hope they catch the F***ERS >:(

i think your only defense would be to ACT really drunk and film the whole thing on your smart phone.
If anything, you can accuse her of making a move without your consent.

Thank god you're here. Things were getting so righteous. I'm sure someone was getting ready to break into America the Beautiful.
Don't be sad, Johnny. If it helps, technically, you still have a chance.

This happened a few years ago in San Diego. Some guy raped and killed a couple girls who were joggers. One was average looking and the other a Blonde Blue Eyed cutie. When the first girl went missing no one cared, but when the cute blonde went missing it was a media frenzy. The whole city cared at that point. It's sad that they base their empathy on the looks of the victim.

Yup like the Boy Scouts motto, "Always be prepared."

Here is one of my guns. For me it's a pocket gun when I don't feel like carrying something too big. Would be in the same class as the guns in your vid.

I've got an M&P bodyguard and a Ruger LCP. I think they're perfect carry guns, plus they're inexpensive

Is she supposed to carry the gun in her hand? How are you so sure he approached her and asked to rape her? He probably sneak attacked her with a bat to the head. Even with a gun it wouldn't have mattered.

There are NO guarantees in life, but it's better than nothing.
IF she managed to avoid getting knocked out, or heard the culprits approach from behind (between songs due to not listening to MegaMix 5) she would at least have a chance to fire off the gun.
Now, she didn't even have a chance.

Just expressing disdain for fear of unlikely outcomes.

It's almost as if the homosexuals who are overwhelmingly in the media are trying to trick women into thinking the world is a safe place and that they are equals in the world. Why? So more women get killed and the homo's have more cock and balls to juggle.

but you go to the movies, right? You go out to dinner places, right? Out to clubs?
Every now and then, there are shootings at places like that. statistically, sure, it's not likely. But if it does happen, no matter how strong you are, no matter what a trained fighter you are, there is nothing you can do to stop a person with a gun who is opening fire. Except hit the ground and fire back.

Yeah, and you could say the exact same thing about a billion other irrational fears which, for whatever cause, you don't happen to feel.
There's a possibility you will trip going down some stairs and break your neck... Better not take any stairs!
You might crash into a drunk driver, better not drive at night!
Someone might punch you in the back and explode a kidney, better keep those spinal erectors tight every time you walk somewhere in public!
Etc.

I see your point. We all wear a seat belt because it improves our chances. We all enjoy various levels of caution in minimizing daily and long-term risks. For me, whether I'm driving thru a crap neighborhood or just sitting in a soft target busy theater, the gun is a nice way to improve those odds.

It's like anything though, look at Kim Kardashian. People follow her and other celebrities because they're good looking. The only anomaly is Steve Buschemi and the Honey Boo Boo family. People care about good looking people. It's sad but true. Humans are shallow.

This is going to sound terrible.... but I think that if she was fat & ugly she would've been safe
this is truth
when have you seen ugly fat girls being raped reported in the media?
yes, it may happen but I would say it is a rarity

NYPD solicits DNA samples from men who frequent Howard Beach park where Karina Vetrano was killed
586
Denizens of the overgrown Spring Creek Park, where Karina Vetrano was raped and murdered Aug. 2, were asked to provide a voluntary oral DNA swab as the hunt for the killer continued.
Cops, armed with a viable DNA sample from the suspected killer, are looking for either a hit leading to the fugitive or a miss that would eliminate suspects.
“In any major investigation, if we have DNA evidence and we’re trying to exclude possible suspects and we have their DNA on file, it would be compared,” police spokesman Stephen Davis said Wednesday.
Jogger who survived attack shares her steps to run safe
“If we don’t have their DNA, we can ask them. We can’t force them, but we can ask them, and we’ve done so in this case.”
Karina Vetrano was raped and murdered near her home in Howard Beach, Queens, on Aug. 2.

Despite the severity of the victim’s injuries, detectives believe there was just one attacker, in large part because only one DNA sample was recovered at the scene.
The New York Civil Liberties Union said the man-on-the-street DNA hunt raised questions.
“We are concerned that police requests for DNA will be understood to be demands,” said New York Civil Liberties Union Associate Legal Director Christopher Dunn. “They should follow normal practice and get a warrant.”
Mass. police urge caution; hunt for NYC jogger’s killer continues
The NYPD tried a similar tactic while trying to nab an upper Manhattan rapist back in 2009.
Detectives trying to crack the Vetrano murder were also looking more than 200 miles away for possible clues in the case, officials said Wednesday.
NYPD investigators have reached out to Massachusetts State Police, sources said, to see if there are any parallels between Vetrano's unsolved strangulation and the murder of jogger Vanessa Marcotte.
The victim, her body partially burned, was found dead on Sunday in Princeton, Mass. No connection between the two deaths has been made, officials said Wednesday.
Fear fills meeting at Queens church to discuss jogger's murder
Philip Vetrano, father of the Howard Beach victim, said the two slayings were “totally unrelated.”
Marcotte, a 27-year-old Google employee who lived in New York City, was visiting her parents in Princeton when she was killed during a jog, officials said.
Her burned body was found in the woods about a half-mile from her mother's home.
On Tuesday, the reward for information leading to Vetrano's killer was increased to $20,000.
Anyone with information on Vetrano's murder can call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

I wouldn't give my DNA. Police officers are known for pinning crimes on innocent people if they cannot find the true suspect. They get heat from the commissioner and mayor to produce results. When they don't, they will charge anyone.
And once the police have your DNA, they ALWAYS have it. Who would trust any police station with their DNA? Not me!!

exactly. Whoever solves that gets a major career boost, more money and prestige. Do I trust someone isn't going to cut corners and cheat with so much to gain? No way.

Exactly. And even if they don't do it on this case, who knows if they will really dispose of your DNA after the case is solved. 10 to 1, they keep your DNA. Who knows what purposes they will use it for. I do not trust ANY police officer/station to have my DNA in their possession.

probably. They probably make it voluntary but require name/ID for everyone who refuses... putting them on the suspect list of course.

you train and think it through many times, hopefully preparing you to make the right choice if it ever happens. And 99% of the time, that choice is DO NOT SHOOT! But for that 1% when a forcible felony is about to cost your life, if you prepare enough, hopefully you make the right choice.

By the time you have come to that conclusion its likely too late to pull the trigger, they have pulled theirs.

we can all get blindsided. But many times, you see a threat coming in. You see someone walk into the restaurant who isn't dressed for summer, who isn't looking at the menu, who is walking too fast and rigid, whose hands aren't just chilling by their side, and you can quietly unzip the fanny pack or draw weapon (under your shirt) and prepare in case they draw a gun and start threatening people.
If they're pulling a heist or shooting, they're making a monster life decision. They don't have the casual look of most people entering a restaurant, scanning snapchat and seeing what's on the 2 for $4 menu today. face, hands, posture, everything.
If there is 1 bad guy, and 20 customers, and 5 workers (likely the money being their focus), there may be a good chance the aware customer can even the odds a bit. Granted, if a dozen terminator MFers with body armor come in the place blasting, my 40 caliber won't do much. But in most situations, with a drug abusing, insecure desperate person focused on the register, their gun may be pulled but mine will be the concealed one that ideally, they never see.

He's not saying that. A lot of people walk through life very unaware of their surroundings. Some of us aren't like that. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen to us, but we're not the blind, floating through life unaware who are sitting ducks in the rare case something does go down.

although she was jogging alone I bet she had the lululemon Sports Bra, hair in ponytail and the lulelemon tights that make her ass magnificent plus those fluorescent Nike running shoes. She was like rape bait running alone. I see chicks jogging alone all the time in about $500 worth or running apparel. Who are they looking trendy and sexy for? Why draw the attention to yourself?
