Random thought, but what does everyone do for a living?

What have you done, what has lead you to where you're at now, are you happy? What do you have ambitions to do?

Curious to  get inside the mind of get bigs finest.

Fuck petunias...minature roses planted in the ground...drip irrigation to lower your water bill (whenever you spray water through the air you lose dougble digit amounts due to evaporation and missed spray.)  Plant them in a tomato cage.  cutting the parts that get too long...this will make it bush out and bloom...spray with an insecticide labeled for use on roses...when the blooms are spent, cut them off to encourage fresh blooms...use a soil moisture content meter to know when to irrigate...there are modules that will do this automatically.

Edit:mulch!...mulch! I fuckin' forgot about mulch...be sure to use mulch!

"WHAT WE DO

The Urban Death Project is researching an innovative new system of death care that honors both our loved ones and the planet earth. This system - called Recomposition - transforms bodies into soil so that we can grow new life after we die.

We are laying the groundwork so that someday, people will be able to choose recomposition instead of cremation or burial. Eventually, we hope there will be places in our cities where we can return our loved ones to the earth naturally.

You can help us build a future where every human death creates deep and lasting ecological wealth."

Own a smal construction company, some days I like it some days I hate it.

Somedays you own the business, some days it owns you. Managing people is the worst part of it, that and the fact that your $12 an hour guy has your phone number just like your $30 and hour guy. I have 29 employees right now and it's the worst part about owning a business. If I could clone myself and some of my other people, I'd cut a quarter of my workforce.  :-\

Currently work as a mechanical engineer working on improvement/modifications and the larger scale jobs/repairs that the breakdown squad are unable to devote enough time to due to keeping the factory going.

Best job was my previous being a self employed builder for 8 or so years, at least untill the later years life was never better, after the recession hit the prices you had to put in was shite and had to work for about a third of the money, customers knew they had the upper hand as work was harder to come but and used this to try and get the job done as cheap as possible as they knew you were after the work. still I mostly greatly regret leaving this to do my current job and miss it greatly, the job was shit for lifting weights though you spent most nights stiff and saw and training weights and intensity of effort usually suffered.

I do plan too hopefully in a few years, I'll use this current job with its unlimited amount of available overtime as a means of reducing or hopefully paying off my mortgage to get rid of the worries during quiet periods as that was the one thing that I disliked about it, even when having several months work was lined up I'd still worry that none would come in after that which is a bit daft I know but couldn't help it. I hope it works out as I miss the satisfaction of working for yourself and have never felt quite the same since packing it in

I can totally relate, I currently have been self employed for past two years, although  longer hours and more stress I feel more accomplished and satisfied. I dont think i'll ever embrace working for someone.

It looks like I may have to go back to that as my current business isnt doing good in todays day and age, gotta figure it out!

Despite being in a factory our place was like that untill recently, our team leader (a childhood friend of mine) organised the jobs and we were just left to it, then we got an absolute little mongrel of a maintenace manager, a little fat joe pasquale look and soundalike who has the worst case of weak little man who uses his position to feel big syndrome ever, he's fucking ruined the morale in the place.

Joined RAF and stayed there for many years while gaining electrical engineer experience including higher national diploma in electrical engineering. Left RAF and did masters degree in electrical engineering as a 30+ guy at University while working as a bouncer in Glasgow.   Started own hazardous area control systems business and eventually sold it for a few million a few years back.

The athletic wear more training apparel for the field, court, track, etc or fitness wear will have a more beach/surfer theme and then a and older meathead-type of theme. Can't give the brand names until all of my trademarks are approved. Our MPF brand sells pretty well now with the hoodies, cotton and dry-fit tee shirts.

I lived off benefits back in the 1970's. Around $30 a week but I still stayed at home then. In my 50's I have assets of more than $10 million and more money than I can spend due to the dividends from my former company. I hope this helps.

I don't think the lines we're developing are really going that route or demographic but if it takes off that way, great. As far as our MPF line it's really taken off by word of mouth through our college and pro athletes that wear our brand. Especially the hoodies, we've had quite a few requests NFL guys who have seen it on the players we train.

It was A jcb 801.5 the older more squared off shape with the glazed cab, I bought it ridiculously cheap off my cousin who was in the same line of work as me but was giving it up as business was poor and he owed money to every builders merchant in the area so even if he did get any work he couldn't get any materials unless he paid his debts so he was kind of desperate.

It was a great machine but made us soft and reluctant to take on jobs where We couldn't get the digger in haha, reliability was awesome it had a 3 cylinder Perkins Diesel engine which would run faultless all day it just was a right pain to bleed if it ran out of diesel.

I was in the roofing industry for over 20 years as an applicator, then inspections, design and then as a contractor. You know as well as I do although they change their minds, it's just means another change order that they have to absorb. More money in the companies pocket.

JCB, junk coming from Britain  ;D. Seriously though, that's a 3,000 pound machine, were you in plumbing/mechanical contracting? That's normally what machines that small are used for over here. I have a Volvo EC35 that's a bit bigger than that, but still small compared to my others.

JCB, junk coming from Britain  ;D. Seriously though, that's a 3,000 pound machine, were you in plumbing/mechanical contracting? That's normally what machines that small are used for over here. I have a Volvo EC35 that's a bit bigger than that, but still small compared to my others.

I was into groundworks and driveways, brickwork and small scale building work (small extensions, porches, conservatories), never did commercial work only private (although did try and price for commercial work a few times as the money was fantastastic but it's normaly sewn up and was a waste of time) and the small size was ideal for digging driveways or foundations on your average house, but we did once use it to clear an acre of trees and demolish a bungalow and it managed although could have done with something bigger.

I work in Quality Assurance / Operational Excellence, so auditing of 3rd parties, but more importantly aligning projects across various departments. Quite interesting.

Worked as a Production Coordinator for many years and had a web dev biz on the side. Good pay. High stress. Company left North America. Chose to get my class 1 and started driving. Doing regional now so I'm home daily but the hours are still long, avg 60 hrs/wk. Money is ok and stress is low unless it's ice roads. Probably going to go back into an IT position before winter hits. Less hrs per week and less chance of dying in a crash.
