In a tweet Friday, President Donald Trump announced that he’d be coming to Texas in October to participate in “a major rally” for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican incumbent facing a tougher-than-usual challenge this year against Democratic U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke of El Paso.
“I will be doing a major rally for Senator Ted Cruz in October. I’m picking the biggest stadium in Texas we can find,” Trump tweeted Friday afternoon. “As you know, Ted has my complete and total Endorsement. His opponent is a disaster for Texas — weak on Second Amendment, Crime, Borders, Military, and Vets!”
Cruz previously said he hoped the president would make a trip to Texas prior to the 2018 midterms. Donald Trump Jr., the son of the president, is also planning to visit the Lone Star State in September to campaign with Cruz, The Washington Post reported.
The rally will bring together two former political adversaries. During the 2016 election cycle, Cruz and Trump were pitted against each other in the GOP primary for president. During the race, Trump suggested during the 2016 presidential election that he had "dirt" on Cruz's wife and that Cruz's father was connected to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Cruz condemned Trump's statements at the time as "classless," calling him a "coward." Cruz later angered many Trump supporters by telling attendees at the national GOP convention to "vote your conscience" rather than explicitly endorsing Trump.
Since Trump was elected president, Cruz has proven to be a strong ally. And Trump's administration has warmed to Cruz. In January, Vice President Mike Pence called the senator "the pride of Texas." And ahead of the March 6 primary elections, Trump tweeted his support for eight Republican statewide elected officials — including Cruz.
Cruz previously warned fellow members of the GOP to prepare for a volatile race this cycle. His opponent, O’Rourke, has significantly outfundraised him and recent polls have shown a single-digit race between the two men. On Tuesday, Club for Growth, a big-spending national conservative group, announced it putting together a seven-figure ad buy against O'Rourke.

In all honesty, mudslinging is typical politics. Not sure if I would take Trump's handout if I was Ted, but if he wants to hold onto his job and keep the Republicans (his constituency) in the drivers seat, maybe he's willing to look the other way. Exactly why I am not a politician. I think City Council or maybe state delegates there is still some level of altruism, but on the big stage it's all about holding onto or gaining power.

The extent of my caring began and ended with asking you if gay marriage in America is a hot topic among simple Venezuelans. Since you brought it up I was curious if/why your fellow simple Venezuelans are interested in that given all the other shit going on in the place where they actually live. Surely the very serious issues you have in your country right now have a much bigger impact on their lives than gay people in another country getting married.

On one hand we have Obama and Biden changing their opinion on gay marriage (I'm going to assume they changed their opinion until you prove they actually lied)
If we look at a Gallup Poll of the opinions of Americans you can clearly see that the opinion in this country about gay marriage was also changing during the same period that Obama and Biden changed their opinions. So their change in opinion basically mirrored the changing views of their fellow Americans. To be fair, I would not expect a simple Venezuelan such as yourself to be aware of this.
On the other had we have a so called "man"...Ted Cruz, who allowed another man to publicly criticize his wife, accuse his father of being involved in the Kennedy assassination and called him Lying Ted hundreds of times. Somehow that so called man has so little respect for himself that he's going to suck up to this person in the hopes that it will help him retain his job. I guess once you've sold out your country then selling out your own family and your own self respect is probably a step down or at least a lateral move.
