Taking a somewhat more serious look at the movement. Bending the knees causes the rectus femoris to stretch, which limits hip extension which also stretches the RF. So you’re not gonna get as good of a range of motion from this exercise as you would from doing a hip extension movement in a standing position where the rectus femoris would be contracted at the knees and allowing for a greater extension of the hips
In my estimation, sprinting or simply squeezing at the top of back squats would be better and certainly less clunky.
I see people actually using the hamstring curl machine to try to do these. Wedging themselves in backwards so the heel pad is on their upper thighs and hunching away.
