Yup, my uncle is 83, in gym everyday, still does construction on his kids houses, etc... (Looks 63).
This poor guy is a sad case...

It sounded like he did not follow the doctor's recommendations for downtime from training and recovery after any of the many surgeries.

Sound like anyone you know?

He quickly went from He-man to Ram-Man after all those procedures ( 13 surgeries in total.)

His spine is now one solid bone stick with absolutely zero mobility. All segments are entirely fused and held together by 14 screws, 2 cages and 2 rods.

All that hardware is pinching on his nerves and causing all the back pain + numbness in his legs.

He was supposed to have them removed at some point,  which may or may not alleviate some of his suffering.

Maybe one day.

Exactly, if you’re a great responder to drugs , everything else is secondary.

Depressive to see King Ronnie like that.
To think him and Jose Canseco are the exact same age.

Ronnie must cry like a baby when no one’s around.

Had to pull myself together after watching that.

Easy to forget that Ronnie naturally had a small waist and hip structure. The megadosing allowed him to put way more on the bar than his structure could handle over the years:

True. Ronnie - As Mr O - he'll always be the GOAT. But - it's awful seeing the consequences for his lifting style.

I'm just glad he seems to be financially able to deal with his medical stuff. I've yet to see a GoFundMe for his hospital bills (unless I'm mistaken.)

Just one of those bodybuilders that didn't beef with nobody: did their thing and didn't shit talk. Respect for that kind of personality. It's bad to see the guy living like this, now.

My back (lumbar and cervical) gets worse every year, but I just think about that guy and get on with training.

Be very cautious of any type of spinal surgery. The cure is usually worse than the disease.

I heard in a podcast couple of years ago, Ronnie saying that he was taken advantage by this surgeon, the doc was doing all these operations for the money basically, if I am not mistaken, just one of those operations ( where they opened him from the front ) cost sth like $300k.....

Any update videos he put up of his training were horrendous to watch. He was still training with shocking bad form which I'm sure wasn't helping alongside the surgeries. Can't blame it solely on the operations. Still sad to see though

Back operations in most cases have results no better than just having physical therapy.

Which kinda sucks.

Shoulder surgery is equally poor in outcomes.

There's gotta be something in that.  A couple of times I actually winced in real life watching him swinging iron around.  Like Ronnie gives a fuck what I say, but maybe he should have found someone like Soul Crusher or you other guys that know about bands and rollers and stuff..?  Would have helped his muscle memory maintain tonus, etc... oh well...

I had procedures done in 4 herniated disks. No sides. I believe its called fiber optics. Worked wonders in my neck. In the lumbar not so much, but much better. No need for pain meds.
Going to order peptides for my shoulders. Worked great a couple of years ago.

It’s partly Ronnie’s fault, and partly the fault of his doctors. It’s his doctors’ fault for doing this to him, and Ronnie’s for letting them.

Be very cautious of any type of spinal surgery. The cure is usually worse than the disease.

After the first operation he should have gotten another orthopedic surgeon. He repeatedly when back to the same doc.

My wife got spinal cord surgery being in horrible pain for a year.  She saw about six doctors until we found a guy that was well know for his great outcomes with her situation.  He did a four hour operation and every week after the operation she felt better. He removed the disks between her vertebrae and replaced them with rubber. He then bolted the spine together so it would stay in place. Since the bones of her spine wasn't crunching the nerves anymore the pain was gone. She felt all the pain in her arm.  The neurosurgeon found something all the other doctors couldn't figure out. The pain was coming from a crunched nerve in her neck that controlled the arm.  Uncrunch the nerves and no more pain and the strength came back to her arm. I don't know who Ronnie hired but I'm willing to bet it was a general orthopedist who claims he can fix shoulders, elbow, knees, feet, hands and spines. Nope, get a specialist. The orthopedist that operated on my arm only did arms and hands. Nothing else.

Ronnie's weird low IQ and happy go lucky attitude was the reason he was able to do so well in bodybuilding.

Only a moron would do all the drugs that produced his body.

It also caused him to fuck his back up to this point. He lifted like a retard during his career and even after his first surgery.

I don't even think he needed to lift so heavy during his career.

This. I believe he had to replace his hips twice due to wear.

His back was a few times. Even videos of him saying HE BROKE THE SCREWS because he was lifting too heavy. They had to go back in and put bigger screws in place.

Lee speaks highly of you - I spoke to him just this Morning  ;D
It's easy, all you got to do is offer Lee a few $, and he will talk to you, promote your shit, whatever you want him to do.

Yes, I did many for a long time, but not anymore.

You're a self admitted homo now you are claiming to have dated women, ok! :o
Why is it so hard to believe that a guy who grew up in the 1980's had to live in the closet most of his life?
In high school I had both a "girlfriend" (a front to friends and family) and a boyfriend who was my "best friend". Get it?

Makes you wonder if living a strenuous life is the way to go:

One made it to 100, the other is in his 90s. Neither has done a strenuous workout in their lives

Interesting little sidebar on Warren Buffett: for a period as a teenager he was into bodybuilding, but to the eternal benefit of his net wealth, and maybe longevity as well as you suggest,  soon realized he didn't have the genetics for it

Excerpts from the biography "The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life":

_______________

His real obsession was weight lifting and Bob Hoffman. He spent most of his free time down in the
basement. A few weeks later, when school was out, he could wait no longer. He had to meet his idol, Uncle Bob. "He was it: I had to see him in person."

However, in the end, Warren’s fascination with numbers won out.

“You know, you kept measuring that biceps to see if it’d gone from thirteen to thirteen and a quarter
inches. And you were always worried whether you were loosening up the tape or anything. But I never
improved from looking like the Charles Atlas ‘before’ picture. I think my biceps went from thirteen inches
to thirteen and a quarter inches after thousands of curls.

The Big Arms book didn't do me much good"

No girl I ever dated would have left me for a bloated, loud mouth, insecure bodybuilding midget.

Girls !!
IIRC you're as queer as a bottle of crisps  ::)

Did Lee tell you to Fuck off - hence the hate for him.

Hearn and Cutler have a more robust bone structure. Cutler especially looks like a Neanderhal Flintstone asset.
Ronnie on the other hand always seemed kinda frail despite having big hands - relative to his genetics he could have gotten all the big muscle with way less weight... seems he bought his own bullshit of being an "invincible" babymomamaker.

From Colman to Oldman.

I was thinking about this yesterday.

Ronnie and cutler on the same dosages, cutler would be bigger.

Ronnie took the dosages to the next level as he was retarded enough to take the side effects. We saw him randomly twitching and stuff in those old DVDs.

I know it would be 99% speculation, but it's pretty common knowledge that Ronnie moved from moderate stuff after that conversation with Flex.  Must have been covered on here before - anyone point me to a thread?

I'm guessing it would be something like triple the dose, plus massive GH use - would explain Ronnies now enormous hands, feet, elbows, etc?

Yes. I'd guess it was that he was only using basic gear, like test and dball offseason and test and winstrol pre-contest. Then flex told him about hgh + slin.

There's rumours that teh Chad had him at death's door a few times.

One observation might be that although he avoids questions about TRT, he appears to be sponsored by (or at least advertising for) a TRT clinic?
