There's an Anton LaVey quote that might be fun and fitting for a gym. You think this banner would be acceptable in a commercial gym in the US? I'm not American so you tell me, but I suspect some wouldn't be so amused and wouldn't see it as a joke :D

Well it's kinda clever, but I don't know. For gym purposes I'd keep it simple and motivational.
I'd like this one personally:

Brutal absolutely broootal. This triggers my usual thoughts. It's a all a big nothing. Every generation goes through the same exercises in futility. Grow up, enter the labor market, commit yourself to an enormous loan instead of living with your parents until they keel over, society tells us only "losers" live with their parents, huge fucking scam, then eventually your house is paid off, you live a few more miserable years with a bald head, a bad back, a shrunken cock, elongated scrotum, you piss 24 times a day and then you keel over

I don't claim to know what "it" is but it's easy to go into existential panic thinking rationally :D
For some reason it helps to know others also thought in the same vein, so I might read a few aphorisms by E.M. Cioran or whatever, and I think, "he too was here." :D
Elongated scrotum is the worst. I've actually joked that having done steroids helps here, you have raisin nuts and a shrunken skrotum :D
