I hope Lee decides NOT to do it because I don't want him to lose his affiliation with the IFBB. He really is too good of a bb for the PDI and I don't mind saying that because it is absolutely true. He will own everyone on that stage easily. This show has indeed been on the the hush and I wonder if it will go off without any problems. Wayne...its time to get down or lay down! Yeah....like no more challenge round, Bench Press Competitions (where the athlete nearly kills himself at least), lame ass callouts in PJ, goofy MCs (who was that guy last year ???), etc, etc.

An in shape Lee Priest will definitely take the show but Sami is an excellent BBer and has come prepared. Also, there are many good European pros that most of you guys haven't seen that are ready to go. I don't expect the competition to rival the IFBB shows at this point but if the show is well ran and there are enough good competitors, then its a success. Also waiting to see the improvements Jack has made while preparing like a beast.

Shawn, you were definitely one of the best BBers of all time. With that said, why do you harbor so much resentment against the PDI trying to provide an alternative and additional competitions BBers? Natural BBing has several pro divisions (although much smaller). Why can't their be 2 pro divisions? The PDI, if its going to be successful, will need time to grow.

advanced in their promotional preparation will be doing shows in our opening year. The other promoters are

These events occur one month after the initial PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. NOC will be offering
$50,000. in prize money plus the $5,000. NOC ring.
In closing, DeMilia announces, “As we have stated previously, 2006 is only our first year and we feel we are
ahead of schedule. There was much skepticism on whether or not we would even have one event. We are still
on course to have a minimum of 6 shows this fall, 12 to 15 shows in 2007, and 25 pro events encompassing

Im not sure the PDI's Execution is 100% on point, but the idea is great. There needs to be some comp for the IFBB. It is the only sport that hasnt progressed in to the millions for athletes. IFBB has been running bb'ing wrong for too and thats because there has been no one to challenge it. I applaud Priest for the stance he is taking and not going along and shutting up. Im still a fan Shawn but I think youre wrong in this one.

Because you spam bodybuilding websites and boards with your contest that had an attendence of 130 people, that does not make you experienced in 'promotions'. When I last checked my friend's kid had more people at thier 5th birthday party than the Colorado Pro.

Come on Shawn. Who will be judging the Olympia? The same group of blue blazers? (Didn't you once complain about that).
Those of us who bought tickets have had the details for months. The show is being held in a theater in Times Square. Consider where some other bodybuilding shows are held.
As far as congratulating Lee, congratulations to Ronnie for winning the 2006 Mr. Olympia, and congratulations to Jay, Dexter, Gustavo and Gunter for filling out the top 5.
Actually I think the Olympia is more predictable than the NOC. Lee is awesome, but he's coming out of an injury and this Sami Al Hadad guy looks brutal!

My guess is, that it has something to do with that it's DeMilia who is behind PDI.
DeMilia was responsible for a lot of bullshit in the IFBB. It became very apparent when Cicherillo, at a Olympia Press Conference, wanted to discuss how only the top 10 athletes were getting prize money at the Olympia got told off by DeMilia with: "This is not the right time, Bob".
IMO, he fcuked the Pro BB's repeatedly. Some might say he did it only because others told him to do so. But I don't buy it.
The whole idea with a new federation would be that the BB's would get a better deal, a better situation, OK?
But check with Jack London, or any of the PDI bodybuilders. Check with them what medical deals, what prize moneys, what free hotels they've been offered.
It doesn't look like there are going to be any changes for the better.
At least not for the bodybuilders.

And is rubbing salt in wounds Christian behavior?), but they'll attack PDI.
It also gives them a chance to prove their loyalty to "this thing of ours." That way they're allowed to put on shows, be seen around at the big events so they can hawk their supplement lines, DVDs or whatever other things they've got going on trying to scrabble together a living.
This is not an attack on the IFBB. I love their shows. It's an attack on intolerance and the bullying behavior it breeds.

It's funny how some of the guys like Sean say no advertising. If I remember theColoradoPro did allot of advertising. Wht did that do. How many out of towners actually flew in other than the ones who came supporting their familiy or friends. All that promotion had a near zero return. Wayne has pumped this show like no other in New York and the are around the venue. He is smart enough to know that the show isn't going to bring in allot of people from out of town except those supporting the competitors. He blanketed the area around the venue for the past 3 months. He hit 10's thousands of more people with his local advertising than with any major publication. Like I mentioned before one of the local publications has a 85,000 reader base WEEKLY. As as mentioned before he has more than 20 gyms and clubs around the venue supporting the show with posters and ticket sales. The shirts were just shipped today and they look awesome. I have to admit they look great. I did a good job. :) So lets see what happens.

Thanks for asking! My shingles have got much better from the outside. But due to the lackof training for almost one month and the amount of sleep i need to recover my contest prep was greatly altered. At the Nabba show I really struggled with water, partly due to me way over carb loading. Once i hit the stage I was just running water out! My legs seemed to be dry but my upper body was bloated and wet! Crystal and I did the best we could w/ what was going on with my health! As far as my future goes, there has been some major changes! I have dropped out of the PDI as I would not due my self justice competing not at my best! And being I believe that the NOC will be the first and last contest of the PDI I do not want to go out that way! So Crystal and I have decided (after many hours of talking) to enter the 2008 NPC Masters Nationals championships. So it is back to the drawing board and time to get some rest and recover form this all. Crystal has 2 shows next April and May so we will be putting a lot of our time into her prep. But in a month or so I will be back in the gym getting ready for 2008!
My dream was to turn pro through the NPC/IFBB. The PDI at first looked to be a good deal for me! But Vince and then Vinny dropping out and the Lee problems changed my outlook of it. I really wanted to compete against some of those top guys before I hung it up! But now there is no one else left! And with me being at less then 100% why do it! All i'll get is bannned by the NPC and with the Pdi on such thin ice what would a PDI Victory even mean? The NPC brings with it a great deal of history and respect! Even if you dont make it to the pro's, to be a top NPC guy carrys with it a lot of resect and is something to be proud of. All I want is that when the day comes that i leave this sport I want to respect and be proud of what i have done! And I truly beleive that it is with the NPC! I am very content and relived that I have decided to stay with the NPC. I was very uneasy and troubled every day when I was still going to do the NOC and now those feels have gone. I fell victim to some fast talking and big promises.

Who knows if the PDI is going to survive, after the NOC. But you're sure not making it easy for them to live up the expectations by constantly bombarding their first attempt as a show.

How will any promoter trust these guys to actually show up for a contest or guest posing. Even though highly doubtful they will get any guest posing requests. Just another reason why I hope the PDI takes off and kicks ass. These guys who will achieve nothing in IFBB if they even get there will come begging back and no way will they be allowed in. Have a good life being second to nothing in the IFBB. Good move.

What is wrong with that? The IFBB isn't getting a sanction fee? So, it has to send out it's paid soldiers to bash it? Anyone who is doing so should realize that undermining any attempt at PDI's success is hurting bodybuilders - our brothers. And that is wrong. Wayne DeMilia knows how to put on a bodybuilding show - the very same shows in which the bashers competed. Just look at the Olympia now compared to when he put it on. The O prize money is up now? Not really, where's the truck? Wayne raised the prize money nearly every year he put the show on. And he and the Weiders split up close to half a million bucks in the end. That's about how deep in the hole it is now, in a crappy off strip dump with the expo at the extreme diagonal opposite end of the city. I think Weider/AMI/IFBB should be directing their homeboys to promote the Olympia rather than bash PDI. Remember, bash PDI and you are hurting a bodybuilder. Monster blatant, unadulterated hate for those who chose not to compete in the NOC. Do you really support the athletees having more choices (whether it's the IFBB or PDI) or do you only want one player (PDI) to succeed? If so, how will the PDI be any different to future corruption?
No No, not hating because they chose not to, hating because they chose to and becasue they got some sort of pep-talk from Sean and Chic they decided to not compete even after promising to compete. See I think 2 organizations can exist. It is Sean, CHic and some other that don't. ANd it's obviously to everyone the IFBB sure doesn't want the competition. If the IFBB had any kind of respect for BB they could easily call Chic, Sean and other sand put a gag order on them to not say a thing. But, they don't. The encourage it and that to me is bush-league and shows signs of being worried.

I am also curious as to why any current or former pro bodybuilder would put out bad energy to PDI. Whomever is putting it on (it doesn't matter), is offering MONEY to bodybuilders to compete. What is wrong with that? The IFBB isn't getting a sanction fee? So, it has to send out it's paid soldiers to bash it? Anyone who is doing so should realize that undermining any attempt at PDI's success is hurting bodybuilders - our brothers. And that is wrong. Wayne DeMilia knows how to put on a bodybuilding show - the very same shows in which the bashers competed. Just look at the Olympia now compared to when he put it on. The O prize money is up now? Not really, where's the truck? Wayne raised the prize money nearly every year he put the show on. And he and the Weiders split up close to half a million bucks in the end. That's about how deep in the hole it is now, in a crappy off strip dump with the expo at the extreme diagonal opposite end of the city. I think Weider/AMI/IFBB should be directing their homeboys to promote the Olympia rather than bash PDI. Remember, bash PDI and you are hurting a bodybuilder. Sorry, guys, but that is just plain wrong.

It's nice to see TJ joined the ranks of Vinny and Vince. Having no balls is something going around with certain guys. At least now you know who can't trust with what they say. How will any promoter trust these guys to actually show up for a contest or guest posing. Even though highly doubtful they will get any guest posing requests. Just another reason why I hope the PDI takes off and kicks ass. These guys who will achieve nothing in IFBB if they even get there will come begging back and no way will they be allowed in. Have a good life being second to nothing in the IFBB. Good move.
So what is the IFBB going to do. They invited Vinny and now TJ to do the NPC Masters? Can't have 2 winners? That should be a good show. I hope the PDI rocks. To hell with the status quo. Only the rich get richer and the guys with pleasing aesthetic physics get burned and seem to like it. I don't get it.

What is more interesting, at the very weekend the first competition of the NOC is going down, no info is being released.
I am hoping that we will see 240 or Bust telling his side of the story, about everything that DeMilia told him, shed some light.
As it stands right now, a guy sitting in Hawaii is our best bet for information on what happens in NY and the NOC. And this isn't a knock on onlyme, rather the opposite. I'm sure he's been trying to get information.
Why wouldn't he?
Even a guy like Jack London, who has been an entry for the NOC for months, doesn't have clear information about something like the prize spread. Prize spread being something of interest for a guy like Jack London, who, even if you have mad faith in his abilities to place well, won't win the show.
And again, this is nothing against Jack London, it's not his fault that he isn't getting clear information.
The information seemingly just shut down.
And hopefully, the guys who perhaps were promised a big future within the PDI will tell their side of the story.

Lee is the only Bodybuilder I like these days.
Everyone else to me is just a liar. I really would like to see Lee just focus on racing though. I think he has got something there.
he may 'tell it like it is' but he still stiffs every promoter. using the plane tickets they bought for him and then deciding to use them on a vaction with whatever girl he is dating at the time. also, likes to say he'll compete, but doesnt and instead has the nerve to sell his merchandise at the expo for the show he signed a contract to compete in, which he doesnt.

I have no info on the show, other than what I read here.
Yall know my position, i think. It's never really changed. I build websites and help out with the promotion of athletes. I built sites for a few of the guys, put together the radio site, and of course I'm a proponent of free market competition for keeping everyone honest :)
I think the fri and sat shows will be completely different. I know quite a few people who are going to see lee, and I might have gone, but baby day is any day, so my ass can't go to the bathroom without taking my cell with me. I wish them the best of luck, just as I wish the IFBb the best of luck. When people stop going to shows, athletes stop needing websites lol...

missy, i haven't done one of those in about 9 months. They're fun to do, but you need to be able to watch the webcast or PPV in order to assess each guy.
