There are conservative democrats for sure. There used to be a lot. Too bad the party has been hijacked by extremists like Pelosi and Reid and now moderate Dems are vilified for being "too right-wing".

True.  Democrats also lost a golden opportunity to lead the past four years.

Yeah.  Maybe if people were more like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, James Madison, George Washington, etc., things wouldn't be so bad.

But they all believed in God too.   :)
didnt matter what they believed...cause they actually made a difference....unlike you, and the rest of the loud mouth cowards that find it easier to show how much worse the other team is than your own...instead of making a difference.....man up, or shut up....

First you say anyone who believes in God shouldn't have a voice.  Now it's anyone who believes in God, but also make a difference?  Which is it?

There used to liberal republicans too, but the Republican party got hi-jacked by the Christian right.

No, that's the problem... Back in the day, I was proud to say I was a Republican... Hard to do that now.

I'm a guy who worries about the things that affect him on a daily basis, and that is generally taxes and spending.

I don't see a lot of difference in the parties from those two items the 8-10 years to be honest.
However, most of the time, both parties are

???

I'd say they were pretty durn effective at leading the NATION to the direction they had in mind.  Obama achived a shitload of his goals...

If your idea of "effective" is "achieved 55% of his goals by working with others", okay.

I'm thinking dems are a lot more happy with "Achieved 85% of our goals by giving repubs the finger".

Do you think EITHER party defines "leadership" as "working together"?  LOL!

The state of the economy, public opinion about Congress, and the November 2010 elections say otherwise.  If they were effective they wouldn't have gotten trounced in November.

However, most of the time, both parties are

Republican lost half their credibility when they refused to cut spending to offset their tax cuts and started increasing the deficit(circa 1984) and lost of the rest of it when they let religious radicals take over their party.  They need to start from over from the ground up and go back to their original principals of truly being fiscally conservative and staying out of peoples private lives

Define "effective leadership" please.

Keeping long-term control, or passing all the greedy shit they wanted to pass?

They couldn't get anything done because all Repubs had to do was threaten to filibuster and that would shut down debate much less an actual vote on legislation

Improving the country, inspiring confidence, setting the right example, etc.  Pretty basic stuff.

The fact they passed a handful of controversial bills was not effective leadership, as the election and public opinion polls showed.

If they are true ideologues as beck and getbiggers believe - then they surely believe in socialized healthcare, govt control of finance sector, etc - as way more important than something immeasurable as "inspiring confidence" and "setting good examples".

Those sound like fairy tales.  The only people who believe political parties give a rats ass about 'setting good examples" also subscribe to childish stories like the official 911 story and the earth being 6000 years old.

Never said anything about true ideologues.  Did you follow the 2010 elections?  Do you know what the Congressional opinion polls have been the last four years?  The results speak for themselves.  They had an opportunity.  They failed.

Obamacare passed.  They've been trying for 50 years to get that bucket of shit thru, and they did it.

They failed on keeping the pendulum public happy?  LMAO... give them 4 years of Romney or Palin and you'll have lines for a mile to put another dem into office.  Pendulum, remeber?  ;)

The public was very impressed with Obamacare, and showed their appreciation in November.

so called "Obamacare" had not even kicked in so all they heard were lies about death panels and lies about deficits

I would think that any prolifer would be very happy that 30 million uninsured american can now gain access to health insurance.  These are not 30 million microscopic clusters of cells.  These are fully formed human beings who will feel pain and suffer and die and now they might have a chance to live a bit longer, not suffer as much and not die or die  from easily curable/treatable conditions.

Any one who cares about life has to be in favor of that

People like their wallets more than life.

This is the dilemma of the Republicans right now.

both....you are a coward for not making a difference, and a moron for hiding behind a flying cake monster who grants wishes....

i know you arent capable of giving a resonable arguement without constantly changing subject or rattling on with what rush said and writting it off as your own thought....so i can leave it at that...

People who believe in God should not be allowed to vote.  People who believe in God should be allowed to vote if they make a difference.  Got it.   ::)

What subject did I change?  Just following up on your incoherent comments.

And you are correct, that I "arent" capable of a "resonable arguement."   :)
