Freaking sleep.  Went to bed at 12:30am, and now up before 4am here in Sacramento, and just can't get back to sleep.  And too freaking tired to read that article right now.

Actually, any real sleep 'expert' will tell you that there is a lot they don't know.

Have an orgasm.  Masturbate right before you want to go to sleep.  I find this really helps to destress the body.

even better when pot toodle is involved...

I usually need at least 8 - 9 hrs of sleep.

However the last 8 years I have rarely went to bed at a normal time (22 - 01 hrs).

Sometimes I go at around 04.00 other times 06.00 so I end up having slept only 3 - 4 hrs and  feeling like shit all day.

OTC pills don't help and I don't want to get addicted to sleeping pills.

Any getbiggers have any tips for me?
Do you live in a weed friendly state/country? If so, nothing works better then weed.
I have the opposite problem, I need at least 8 hours or I feel like shit. So yeah, I feel like shit most weekdays. Caffeine  for me, and yes i am addicted.

Breathing and meditation go hand in hand - its synergetic.
A good 20 breaths and one may already be dozing off... and that from an initial state of tension and turmoil. The "trick" is to do it without permanently gauging the technique's validity.

1. Don't drink alcohol before bed.
2. Don't look at the computer RIGHT before bed
3. Don't look at the internet on your PHONE right before bed
4. Have a small meal about a 1/2 - 1 hour before bed.
5. Don't have the TV on RIGHT before bed
6. Turn off the radio RIGHT before bed.
7. Turn off all lights and close the shades at bed time.
8. Have some sleepy time tea w/valarian and 2 melatonin.

If you don't sleep at least you'll die of boredom.

I worked at a NON-UNION demolition company a few years back, working 12 hrs, 7pm-7am...........and i couldnt sleep for shit, thats how bad my anxiety was. IMO, doing a very physically demanding job and have severe anxiety........dont go Good together. Every morning when i would get off work, and go to my ex girlfriends to try and sleep, was HORRIBLE. My mind and body were soo stressed out and my anxiety was terrible.

Worry and anxiety are very mentally destructive.  I believe that financial difficulties are 80% of it.

A friend of mine worked on a railroad laying road ties and had the same problems.  A guy I know at the gym is 40 years old works a dead-end job at Walmart.  He has no skillset besides ability to operate a forklift, he is depressed all the time.  If one does not acquire a defined skill, or set of skills, that person is usually doomed to working menial jobs for the rest of their lives.

It makes me laugh when I hear people say "money can't buy happiness" or "money is root of all evil".  IMO, lack of money is the root of evil.  Lack of money causes worry, stress, bankruptcy, divorce, crime and murder.

Have to agree - lack of resources, or access to, would be a better term though. It's often people who have more than enough that feel like downplaying the role of money to hide their advantage - be it worked for or inherited.
