Splenda is great to get off sugar and I try to stay away otherwise, but I tend to have it now and then.

Sugar is a “chemical” too, and 1tsp sugar doesn’t offer much in the way of sweetness.  More like 2-3tsp+.  Also, Splenda doesn’t promote tooth decay like sugar.
