I put a gym in my garage. It cost me some money but it was used gear from a gym.I have a monolift, power rack, forza bench, texas squat bar, cambered squat bar,leg ext,leg curl, seated leg curl, reverse hyper,45 degree hyper, cybex leg press, deadlift platform, incline bench, utility benches, preacher curl, dumbells from 20-150,1200lbs of weights, all kinds of bars, lat machine, deadlift bar, etc. In my opinion, unless your training at a really good gym, with really good guys, home gyms are the way to go.I could not bare the thought of training at a place where there is no chalk,no dropping weights, where they discourage people from using real weights.Back in the 80s every gym was a hardcore facility with tons of bodybuilders and powerlifters. Now they are places for middle aged women and men.Sad.
Craigslist is your best friend ,I bought everything for $850 weights included . I have my set up in the garage also .
Powertec is the Muscletech of gym equipment, you wont recover
building my own gym was the best investment ever!!!!I train way more regularly and dont have to deal with the disgusting slobs at teh gym and the distractions...plus I can lift in my underwear
i have a gym in my house with a smith rack, power rack 4 pieces of cardio, DB from 20 to 160, and multistation among other things and it fucking sucks.I wish i never bought it and i still go to a gym i do however have people over to train all the time, but it is not as fun.
No law against going to the gym just because you have stuff at home bro. If you get too busy to go, you're home setup will be there for you. When you've got the time, you get to go to the gym and enjoy yourself. Best of all worlds.
