Radio Carbon dating is only useful for things less than 50,000 years old. The earth's age, of 4.5 Billion years, was determined using Radiometric dating of the lead isotope isochron.
Woah buddy, keep your big words and your science to yourself, we are trying to have intelligent conversations here.
The are artifacts in Southern America that hint at humans/civilization having existed for a very long time. Unfortunately a good bunch of scientists have been "expelled" from the community to not shit all over the picture presented to us. It's like everything else - you're part of "the" club as long as you play along.
There was a program on Nat Geo about the Americas before Columbus which showed that there were massive cities in South America, which have now been covered by the rainforests. They said the indigenous people used to log and clear those forests, but when they were all killed off by smallpox etc., that the rainforests came back and over grew all of the old cities. So, when people say that we need to save these forests, I think that is false, as some of them are only a few hundred years old. Not all need to be logged, but it would be great to excavate some of these ruins.
The Mormons believe this in their doctrine.
