If Ronnie was really as good as some on the board hype him up to be , he would have beat Dorian a few years ago - e.g 1996 lol you have to be carefull what you type slick

and Jay did beat Ronnie in both the symmetry and muscularity rounds of the 2001 Mr Olympia but Ronnie someone ' wins ' the whole contest with the posing rounds and mind you NO ONE in the history of the contest has ever lost the prejudging and won the contest with the posing rounds , Ronnie was a very lucky man

And for the record Arnold Schwarzenegger is the greatest Mr Olympia of all times , he was the standard bearer , he was the first to win six consecutive Mr Olympia titles , he could have won 14 if he wanted to , he retired at 28 and in all probablity never reached his full potential , he could have very easily won in 1976/77/78/79/81/82/83 Haney would have stopped him but he faced no one post his reign that he couldn't have beaten

And being the greatest Mr Olympia doesn't just encompass how many Sandows you have its more , Arnold went on to achive success that no one could have imagined and he still stayed true to his bodybuilding roots ( although thats changes because of his politics ) and he's done more for public exposure for bodybuilding than any former winner

Arnold is the original and the greatest !

If we're going to be honest, Arnold did have some flaws: not all of his muscle bellies were long, his skeletal frame wasn't as perfect as Oliva's and he did have some muscular assymetries.

However, and even though he was not genetically perfect, he was gifted enough which, when combined with his clinical approach to building his body, resulted in a physique that combined mass, proportions and aesthetics like no other. Arnold is the greatest ever, but not in terms o innate potential. If we're atalkig about innate genetic potential, then the greates bodybuilders of all times were, in no particular order:

 - Sergio Oliva

 - Kevin Levrone

 - Flex Wheeler

 - Aaron Backer

 - Denis Newman

 - Francis Benfatto

 - Phil Heath

Chris Cormier could also have made that list, although I think his torso is a little long. Anyway, the men I mentioned are the only ones who had a close to perfect skeletal frame, combined with uniformaly long muscle bellies throughout their bodies.

Now, Heath is another special case. He is vastly genetically superior to Cutler, but he won't be Mr.Olympia or a while because he needs to pile up at least 30 lbs of mass for that to happen. Now, if he can do that and maintain the crispness of details, hardness and symmetry that he displayed at the Colorado Pro Show, not only will he defeat Cutler with straight-firsts scores, but he will undoubtedly become the greatest Mr.Olympia of all times. The reason why I hesitate making a prediction is that lots of guys who look phenomenal at 230 or 240 lbs lose a lot of details, hardness when they go above 250 lbs, and they develop several symmetrical anomalies, such as gettig a distended gut. I Heath can control that, wow...he will have a physique that not even Fidias would be able to replicate On marble! :o

arnold.

without him, there may not even be a mr. olympia or bbing after him.

who else has influenced as many people to take up bbing than arnold.

Now it's obvious that the frightening Yates ball-worship & warped views extend to Schwarzenegger-no Olympia without Arnold? LMAO

Schwarzenegger's thighs were undersized but with good presentation and in the context of  excellent shapes & cuts and alongside great calves, it worked. Wasn't a noticable shortcoming.

Not only is Arnold Schwarzenegger the greatest Mr. Olympia ever, he's also the greates bodybuilder of the 20th century! The official recognition was given to Arnold by Ben Weider at the 1997 Arnold Classic when Ben gave him the "Gold Order of the IFBB".

Ben Weider: "It is a great pleasure to present this outstanding award to Arnold as the greatest of the 20th century. Afterall, the next medal will be presented 100 years from now." He added, "Arnold has the mind, the heart and the soul of a champion."

So there you have it. Don't you think that's saying a lot? I think so!  ;D

Do you need kneepads to continue the worship?

How? Where does it say that a gut and undersized calves (and gyno) mean you're the peak of bodybuilding development?

From a strictly BB point of view, I'd say it has to be Sergio.

Just stating my opinion... in 1999 and 2003 he was incredible.  Later on, yes he had a gut... and his calves were a tad underdeveloped... but as far as pushing the human body to the absolute brink, he takes it... he had his flaws, yes... but every O did.  And without any further intro, let the flaming/dorian vs ronnie war begin!!! ;D

Even if you have huge gut, you are forgiven if you have another bodyparts match.
Ronnie and Sergio is like Tree and weed.

From a standpoint of furthering the sport in the public eye and marketing, few will ever match Arnold's charisma.

Bannout in his prime also was a great bodybuilder.

It would probably help if you posted a picture that works. If he is so good where did he place in this contest?
