everyone talks about how pro bb is dying or in a state of flux and denial. show attendance down, no tv coverage, etcetera. but what about natural bodybuilding! truly that is dying even more so i think.
at least you still have all the bb mags with pros on the cover, even though no tv coverage, the mr. o is still usually ( except this year) available for pay per view, the best pros still get their endorsements, pros still make money selling dvd's and videos, and yes, a few of them have tiny bits in movies, plus the Arnold is a huge hit every year especially the expo with the fans.
what can be said about the natural bodybuilding scene though! when's the last time you saw a natural bb on any mag cover except perhaps the small read new magazine REPS, they show don't natural shows on tv either anymore, no natural bb fitness shows on espn like flex appeal, co-ed training, etc. anymore and the most well known shows musclemania still are done around the world with the world championship in hollywood, but it's lost it's buzz factor.
you have/had the 3 probably most well known natural bodybuilders in the world, bill davey, mike o'hearn and clark bartram, all retired from competition, haven't been on a magazine cover in like forever. davey and bartram seem to be content to train and own gyms in almost like their careers have gone backward in that that is what they were doing before their competition, modeling, tv show days. and o'hearn is content to start his line of gyms plus to do other outside bb business and do the occassional bad B movie.
