TUNA RECIPES
« on: November 05, 2006, 10:41:08 PM »
I love tuna and I love mayo but tuna salad on bread is getting a little old (that's not all I eat). I just like it cuz it's cheap and has a lot of protein. Anyone know of some other tuna recipes? Thanks.
P.R.: ate four lbs p-butter in 3 days

Get some Ahi.  Turn on pan with Olive Oil to med High.  Brown both sides for about a minute.  Now cut into small bite sized pieces and eat with Shoyu and wasabi. Seared Ahi is unreal.  Broiled Ahi with a Shoyu/Mustard sauce is good too.  I grilled 1 or 2 lb pieces of Ahi then cool then make my tuna salad from the fresh Ahi.  Fresh Ahi is the only way to eat tuna salad.  ALmost every week someone I know catch an AHi and gives me 2 lbs or more.  My freezer is stuffed with it.  Ahi Tuna Cakes are great too.  Just like Crab Cakes but with Ahi.  A sauce with roasted garlic and mayonaise is awesome with these.

For my afternoon feedings, I drain a can of tuna, literally drench it in a mildly sweet jalapeno sause and wrap it is a whole wheat tortilla.  Not as tasty as the ahi recipe above, but maybe cheaper and more practical.

I haven't made this recipe in a hundred years, but when I did, everyone loved it ~ even the tuna haters.  There's a ton of room for tweeking to your nutritional needs (ie; more tuna, less rice, less cheese, more eggs, remove the yolks...)  They reheat nicely.

Tuna Muffinettes
2 C cooked rice
2 cans tuna
1/2 C shredded cheese (chedder)
chopped black olives (optional)
Chopped onions to taste
1 T parsley flakes
1 t season salt
2 beaten eggs
2 T milk

Combine all ingredients
Put into greased muffin tins and bake @375 for 15 mins.

Serve with a lemon butter sauce drizzled on
(a little melted butter, some lemon juice, season salt and parsley)

Just a little goes a long way.  It is a must!

Those sound pretty good.
I love Raw Salmon with Wasabi sauce.  Just be sure you get some fresh fish.  As the last stuff I made at home had salimela, and I got pretty sick for a day.

Only if you bring the wine  ;)
A light crisp white would do fine.

I regularly go as basic as:
Baked potato with tuna, and later 2cans tuna with cup and 1/2 pasta with added red or brown sauce.

yummy.
