Milos, I have a question.
Of course training hard is a must in bodybuilding. However your pictures are showing something more than just hard training.  Is there a specific reason to put the body in that state? How do you think that going far beyond failure until vomit will be beneficial for the body?
Thanks.

Training hard is very relative term...
While here on this board many believe in EGO and MACHO training "go heavy or go home" type of thing - I believe otherwise...

There are many ways to increase the intensity - and here I am just showing what we can accomplish with even "light" or moderate weight...

It is NOT only SUPER SLOW training - there are many variables...
Tempo is just ONE of the variables - and contrary to what many believe - I have constantly different speed of the movements...
Some things are done SUPER SLOW, some SLOW...MODERATE..FAST... and even SUPER FAST...

Some reps are done with PAUSE - in the lower position, some in the middle of the movement...some at the end...
Pause could be done WITH the maximal contraction...moderate.. .or no contraction at all (forcing muscles to fire up after COMPLETELY relaxing...)...

Some reps are done explosively...some controlled...some without a force - only using muscle contraction...

Some reps are done traditional way...some with slow and controlled eccentric part and explosive concentric (common practice for years)...but some are done exactly the opposite - fast eccentric and slow concentric...

Some reps are FULL...some PARTIAL...Partial could be also separated in phases...

Some exercises are done traditional ...and some in super-set fashion or even giant sets fashion...Constantly INCREASING intensity by increasing ONE or MORE variables with each consecutive set (load being just one of them...) etc..etc..etc

I see that "limited minds" here see only amount of weight and they are laughing they heads off when they see 25 pound plate on Smith Machine...or 135 lbs in any particular exercise...
They have no idea WHAT happened BEFORE that - and usually the weight that you see on the pictures is exactly appropriate weight - that would give hard time to anyone that attempts to lift it THE WAY I WOULD REQUEST...

And if ANYONE...and I do mean ANYONE - believes that this is a cake walk - come to Koloseum Gym and show us what you got...

My favorite Latin sentence is: "Hic Rhodos, hic salta"...used in ancient times to invite ANY "getbig tough guys" (read: big talkers who claim how incredible they really are) to come to Island Rhodos and PROVE what they claim...["Here in Rhodos you jump"]

If you say you can do something - than you should have no problem proving it...

So, for any getbig heroes here is invitation: "Hic Koloseum, hic salta..."

Thanks for your answer Milos and I totally agree with what you wrote... there are many different ways to make a workout intense.
However my question was another. Is really necessary to train so hard, with so much intensity, that in the end you have to puke? I mean, even if I like to workout hard at the gym (in some of the ways that you described) I just would stop if I feel that I'm getting sick. No way I would vomit at the gym!
What's the purpose of going on until vomit? Why isn't healthier to just stop one instant before?

You know, here's a great thread showing just how big Ed Kawak really was.
The illusion of the stage can sometimes play great tricks on the mind.

http://ironage.us/yabbse/index.php?topic=9332.0

These pictures were taken HOURS apart. Not days, not years. Hours, so Ed was not "off" or hadn't been dieting/training recently in one photo or the other.
this is the same thing that sometimes make ronnie appear small...ronnie is like a massive monster on stage but if you see him closely with clothes on he kinda looks bit narrow and small despite being 300lbs...just look at these pics..although ronnie is 305lbs in these pics but to my eyes he looks like 270-280lbs range

There is no purpose of going on (training) until vomit...If it happens - so be it...
Certainly it doesn't happen all the time.
Stopping one instant before?
And when do you know that "instant" is coming?
Therefore - if you want to be "healthier" and NOT risk possibility of vomiting - stop 2-3-5...100 instants before...or better yet - don't even train. Just drink some beer and make sure you stop "instant" (read: bottle) before - so you don't vomit ;)

Shock promotes growth...and improvements...
If you continuously doing something your body is accustom to - body would have no reason (or very little) to change...
Shocking the body with something out of the ordinary could make you puke - without really having even a fair warning...

My goal is NOT to make anyone puke - this is just "side effect" of intense training...
BTW - I puked so many times I can even tell you the number...

Milos, I read in a flex article way back where you said one time that you use what we call "imaginary weight" where you can get a pump on your bicep without using any weights at all. I believe this has to do with the "Mind and muscle" connection thing

YES.

Try to squeeze any particular muscle AS HARD AS YOU CAN for several seconds (start with maybe 5...)
Try to do 3 - 5 sets of 10 - 15 reps...and let us all know what you felt ;)

Note: I said AS HARD AS YOU CAN - which means MAXIMAL CONTRACTION.

I see that many times people do CONTRACT the muscle - but NOT maximally...just enough to complete the rep and maybe feel the muscle being contracted - but certainly not AS HARD AS THEY POSSIBLY COULD.

There is HUGE DIFFERNECE between the two.

Try in any particular exercise and you'll see what I am talking about.

Don't just squeeze...squeeze the "living hell" out of you ( ::))...Learn to connect with the muscle and squeeze in every rep...than apply more and more pressure to the point when you will know how to squeeze maximally EVERY TIME!

I'm gonna try that. Cause there was a strenght and conditioning coach from a local university where I live who said that it's only a theory and that it wouldn't provide no benefits for his athlete.

He said correctly - HE IS STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH...We are talking bodybuilding here....

So those guys doesn't apply any bodybuilding principles at all?. I would believe that a lot of sports starting with Football would learn a great deal from bodybuilding, giving the fact that all NFL teams have a strenght coach. Shouldn't those guys know the whole nine yard and then some?. Never mind they lift for football, but in my opinion weight training in General shouldn't be for one specific purpose

Fair enough Milos... I can see your point now. It's just a side effect that might or might not happen, and not something that you're aiming at like an indicator of intense training.
However it never happened to me... I try to give my best at every workout (and I get some progress to pay me back of my efforts), but since I don't have competitive ambitions I guess I never crossed the line that can lead to the effects described above.
By the way, I learnt a lot from your DVDs, I recommend them.

i learned how to maximaly contract under the guidance of ron love...his type of training is similar to miloses...focus on the muscle rather then the weight....it reduces the weights drastically.

Milos going by those pictures, those workouts look crazy hard!!! Do the guys you train always finish the workout or do they sometimes just quit?

Also who would be the hardest guy or hardest client you have trained or trained with??
