Steroids do not in themselves make you aggressive and violent unless you have a predisposition to it.  The baseball player probably had a lot of other issues he was dealing with  and his use just made him a little more nuts.

Society is strange.  Our country is so harsh about steroids and say that they are so evil but if you look at most of us that use them we  have great physiques few sides and not a lot of rage except when pressing the weights in the gym. Its the ones that dont know what their doing with it that have the problems.   The government needs to look at other drugs and compare.  Like alcohol.  This is responsible for a lot more deaths, murders, car accidents and family problems than steroids has ever been not to mention the havoc it wreaks on ones body if over used.  So should we make our vodka, beer etc illegal.

Alcohol is by far the worst legal substance in the USA...perscription pills are getting out of hand as well. i know ALOT of people who are hooked on alcohol and/or pills.

Not to mention nicotine another drug we decide to keep legal.  Steroids are not like meth, coke, acid or alchohol wich allows you to loose control of your actions.

There´s a lot of tax money in nicotine products and alcohol plus many politicians are hooked on perscription pills, booze and smoking so they will never ban those products. Steroids are just an easy target, that "they" can use to scare "tax-paying soccer moms", the thing that really gets me is that gear is used as a diversion, so that people don´t see the problems  that need to be addressed or cannot be fixed without an real effort.

I think they used the wrong guys to protray steroid use. Two of them had not so great bodies (putting it lightly)  The other guy that looked like he worked out and made it seem like he was just doing it temporarily LIE.

I agree. I know quite a few people who are on gear but none of us brag about it. I'm more then happy to discuss steroids with others but I won't just randomly go up to people & say "I'm on... & this & ...".

No doubt...this is with out question the "typical user who shouldn't", but it's also the only user you ever hear about on TV or in any media outlet. Every gym has some of these guys, they openly talk to everyone about their steroid use, and do so proudly...they are also the ones you see making total asses of themselves by way of acting like billygunns er uh, I mean billy bad ass

MTV has now on more then one occasion painted the picture that people want to see when concerning steroids. Why not paint the correct picture for once? Again, yes there are plenty of people who fit the bill of the guys on this show, but their are plenty of the other types as well...many can be found on this board. BTW, I use the term "many" loosely, there are varying degrees.

you're all completely correct (as if anyone in the know were fooled). drugs like nicotine and alcohol are far far more destructive to individual and societal health and order than steroids ever were (this is an INDISPUTABLE FACT and i dare anyone to disprove it - $100 000 paypal right now to anyone that can) yet they are PROMOTED on television. hell, the very people that govern us tell us to have a 'drink' on certain occasions, toast this, toast that. i remember seeing a newly elected president celebrating victory on t.v with a glass of champagne in hand. of course we accept this as normal custom. shit, we even find a reason to drink it at religious ceremonies (supposed to rep the 'blood of christ' LMFAO) imagine if we saw the president popping dballs on the screen . anadrol at holy communion anyone (wait for all the big ass born again christians at church twice on sundays ).

yet, here we have all these law enforcement agencies all woodied up to put bodybuliders and athletes, who harm no one, in jail so they can become hardened criminals. shit, maybe if titus didn't get sent to jail for it in the first place that young girl might still be alive. makes you think doesn't it

I still believe the “typical” steroid users are not the Jay Cutlers, Barry Bonds, or ArnoldJrs of the world.  They are insecure, immature, ignorant (about usage, diet, exercise – all of it), and looking for a perceived quick easy way to achieve what is usually an unrealistic goal.

Many of the AAS users at my gym are of the "plug 'n' play" variety as well.  They think it's easy as just taking drugs for gains not realizing the other work that comes with it.

I think a good majority of AAS users are like this.
