Dipping belts

Anyone reccomend a good/cheap dipping belth with chain etc.

stupid ymca doesnt have one and ARENT going to get one either  :o

you can find good ones at any reputable fitness equipment store for around 30-35 bucks, good investment, they last forever.

I use to use a  rope with a heavy towel wrapped around it. Served my purpose very well. But anything over  a 100lbs, or more, will need a regular dipping belt. Besides dips and chins, they work well with one legged calf raises. Good Luck

most gyms don't have them because they get stolen all the time.

Mine is a Grizzly leather dipping belt which has worked great for my purposes (weighted pullups).  Here's a good deal:

most productive thing i did all last summer.

i went to home depo and bough about an 8 -10 foot thick chain.

i bought 2 hooks.

i attached one of the hooks in the middle of the chain and made a belt out of that.

i put another hook on the remainder of the chain.  i slip that through a plate or db and then strap that hook around the chain around my waist that i made into a belt. 

some people found this to be a bit uncomfortable.  in that case, wear your reg. belt with the chain over it.

to get the chain and hooks cost under 10 bucks.

That sounds like alot of work to save $20.  Does it have any advantage over a commercial belt?

mine is the single greatest training tool i ever bought. better than all the supps, gimmick, clothes etc.

adds huge mass. mine was 20pounds. will last a lifetine. lol will be my family heirloom.

get a good one i can dip with well over 200lbs attached for reps. dont want it to break. my wee clip did i bought a stronger one from hardware store.

Not a bad idea the chain but a Grizzly belt is only $24 and would be comfortable. Their fabric belt might be the most comfortable of the ones they sell.

The advantage of the Body Solid belt is a larger back support area, if that's of value to some.

I've tried the chain, with snap hooks, also.  Problem being that when working up to some serious weight, that chain will dig into the the waist/lower body big time. Even with a folded small bathroom rug wrapped around the waist/groan area (I was young then). Which I did as a last resort. Best bang for the buck would be the kind of belt  Goudy bought. Good Luck.

bought a cheap 2nd hand weight lifting belt and just gonna get chains from hardware store (i assume) and hook them on the buckle

Don't buy a leather one, buy a synthetic. Much more comfortable.
