No lifting weights till 2007 because i had the 'straining' headache aka the Exertional Haedache as it is called. Due to my blood pressure, water, stress, and not warming up..i have had this happen twice in the last 3 months.
How can I get use to cardio until the new year?
What have others done in the wake of an injury ?

I can tell you right now what your issue is - it's your breathing.
You are doing what is called a valsalva manuever. I have experienced these before on leg press doing high, heavy reps and forgetting to breathe. They cause extremely painful headaches and can be localized to one side of the head.
Just make sure to breathe during your reps and you will not have any issues.

I dunno. Maybe if you got a little less angry and stopped shouting your blood pressure would come down. You may have shadow-syndrome.

I'd focus on cardio and do lighter weight and more reps. I'd lay off the real heavy compound movements for a while till the weight/blood pressure came down. And mellow out, you'll have something to stress about when you have a stroke and you paralyzed on you're left side. No stress!

As you now know, that is a very high reading...certainly could be the cause of the headaches. Yes, while your working out, your Blood pressure elevates but returns to normal after exercise. Exercise also reduces BP in the long run. I hope your staying away from all gear and stimulants...they'll just make things worse.
Diet and cardio exercise is a must, but with that degree of hypertension...they should do more testing to see why your BP is so high at your age. Yes, stress can certainly elevate BP but thats pretty high for stress alone. Purchase a home BP monitor and see if its less when you take it at home. Many people's BPs elevate when they go to the doctor's office.

Good post - but I would say that even if his BP went up in the doctors office, it didn't go up that much. KE, I would use this as a time to do some research on diet and how it relates to BP...
