A pathetic moment in history
« on: December 20, 2006, 03:34:10 PM »
Look at poor Arnold. Trying to figure Mentzer out. Trying to find his fears and weaknesses.

He looks a bit dissappointed with his findings...

Dips and cable pressdowns.

That was my exact tricep workout yesterday. Pre-exhausted with pressdowns first, textbook form with 8-12 second long reps to failure! Followed immediately by machine dips with the same form!

His most visible weakness is his chest and Arnold has the best one and Arnold got to him because after that Mentzer was never the same , you can make a case for Arnold losing in 1980 but that doesn't change a damn thing because Mike was in 5th lol he wasn't going to win even if Arnold never showed , he couldn't close the deal in 1979 against Zane he wasn't going to do it a year later.

The very thought of Mentzer having less than average intelligence isn't even a reasonable idea.

And 5'8 passes for average.

Shouldn't be saying anything bad about Mike Mentzer. The guy was awesome. Im not saying Arnold wasn't but Mike should have done much better in the '80 O. he was a kickass bber whose life got cut short and its too bad that even though hes been gone for so long his physique still gets critiqued because he went up against "arnold".

You're absolutely right, but then again most of these guys don't know a thing about Mentzer. I mean, he was a "midget intellectually"?

He's done enough exceptional work in bodybuilding to earn legend status and the respect that should come with it.

Mike was a great bodybuilder no doubts about it , but even if Arnold never entered the 1980 Menzter wasn't going to win , he had a legitimate shot in 1979 and still lost , NO Arnold , NO excuses .

This is Mike at the 1979 Mr Olympia
