Author Topic: Who is Kamali to say that Gunter's "15 minutes of fame" has expired? (Read 4303 times)

I just read Kamali's Olympia report in the latest MuscleMag. That guy has no right to diss people who earned their way into that show. Kamali never has had an impact at an Olympia contest, nor has he qualified for the show in recent years. Gunter was top 5 for the past four years!

I realize that Gunter isnt perfect but he is 100% better than Kamali will ever be. Plus, unlike Kamali, Gunter actually has fans.

Then Kamali issues a warning to Jay Cutler saying "you better watch out because we are all gunning for you now". There may be a few guys in Jay's class that will be trying to take the title....but Kamali aint one of them.

Kamali did qualify for the 2006 Olympia. He placed 4th at the Montreal show. As the top 3 had already qualified, Kamali got the spot.

This is his sixth years as a pro. He has qualified for the Olympia 4 times. His best Olympia placing was his rookie year, 2001, where he ended up 10th. That qualified him for the 2002 Olympia.

Kamali is the "King" of getting gifts from IFBB judges. His first two years the judges were blinded by the hype, and even now he frequently gets placed a few places higher than he should due to his "name". His "Olympia Qualifier" last year is a perfect example. It was a third-rate show with hardly anyone any good entering to begin with, the top three had already qualified anyway, and Klown still needed a gift-placing over Denis Wolf to qualify. Pathetic!

Now there's an objective view. If Kamali places low, he stinks. If he places high and qualifies for the Olympia, it's a "gift" or there's some "conspiracy" of some sort.

No, Kamali stinks no matter how he places. If he places high, it just means his placing is not in any way connected to reality.

Kamali is a delusional bodybuilder,first year as Pro qualified for the MrO finished tenth next year placed 17 th.His 15 minutes of Fame lasted about a year.
Should do commercial for Michelin man the tyre company.

Usually these gang signs could be difficult to translate to normal human languages, but this one is crystal clear; Shari's two hand sign means "I want to fuc*k this dude's big (notice wide cap between left hand fingertips) ass*hole" and sign which is his partners response, means "I would love that, let's go fatty"...

That was a rule change, implemented in 2003. Prior to that, a top-10 placing at the Olympia qualified a competitor for the following year's show. Kamali's 10th place finish in 2001 qualified him for the 2002 Olympia.

There were a number of rule changes, regarding qualifying for Olympia that took place in '03. Some of the qualifications methods that were stricken, I believe, were:

- Winning the Mr. Universe (World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships)

- Top-3 finish qualifying someone for the next two Olympias.

- Lifetime qualification for any former Mr. Olympia.
