another johnnie jackson BS strength claim
« on: January 15, 2007, 08:16:25 PM »
in the new flex, joj claims a best of 405 for 8 reps for upright rows.

could kaz, gary taylor, gary frank, paul anderson, etc. even do this lift, let alone a 5'6 250 lb. bodybuilder with a small bone structure?

Or his 405x8 seated barbell press?

if he did it like a power clean i could imagine it, sure. not a strict shoulder-exclusive upright row, hell no.

Dude never. Not sure his shoulders could take it. Also his form would be so awful we might not even be able to make out what area he is trying to work.
I dont use the strictist of forms but i 1) atleast have a full ROM and 2) if i feel the movement in a place not intended to be affected i lower the weight and do it right.

Because he has a powerlifter background so he believes he is the strongest bodybuilder out

exactly.

bc he's competed in a few wpo events with at best decent numbers, he feels the need to grossly exaggerate his lifts.

meanwhile, he should be getting his gyno cut out.

I would say he put up some really good numbers, his last competition I believe he was only 240 something and deadlifted 700+. I will see if I can look up the exact numbers.

pulling and squatting both over 800 while weighing roughly 230 is a fair bit above "decent" numbers. a little while ago he was in a deadlift-only competition and competed as a 259 (not sure why there was a 259 division), ended up beating the 275 and i believe the 308.

he probably exaggerates his upper body claims a bit because that's where his strength lags. oh and no one here can tell me his rows were any worse than ronnie's in cost of redemption. both were comically bad. throw in dorian's in blood and guts while we're at it. and yet, those three guys have some seriously thick backs.

This is the same fool that claims he will pull 1000lbs in the deadlift when his best lift is 820.He is a VERY VERY strong man,but he clearly lives in a fantasy world.
