These are all great songs.  Am thinking of making a playlist of all of them together.  Probably won't make it to work in one piece.

That Genesis tune reminded me of a song some guys played at the wake of a friend who died two years ago.

Thank you Deedee!!

And yes! Roxette...love that song!! Ahhh...Pretty Woman! ;D

..sorry..couldn't help myself.. :-[

ROFL... oh Juni!!!

I knew the sadness thread couldn't last...

... but isn't it strange how songs you wouldn't listen to normally, suddenly sound so great when you're screaming them out loud in the car.

No, I was in the military Dee, but I love Emerson Lake and Palmer. My old band used to cover Lucky Man, although Im a keyboardist by trade my singing voice is similar to Greg Lakes.
Genesis has a few songs that are really sad, their Horizons is an acrostic guitar piece thats really beautiful and sad.

I love all music, but I do my best not to attach my personal life or history to a song.  It's too heart-wrenching and sticks with you for life.  Makes getting over or past what ever situation you attached to the song almost impossible as the song at some later point will play...and remind you of the sadness.

But that's just me.

Me too!!   Best live group I ever saw!

I used to lust after Mathias Jabs
   ::)

I saw them in 1986ish on the monsters of rock tour. They blew Van Halen off the stage. World Wide Live is still one of my favorite CDs.

Flower, and Stella, you gals rock  \m/

Yup  Monsters of Rock!!  I thought the same thing.  I don't even know if I stayed for all of VH.

    Wasn't Dokken there too?

Yup, Dokken, Kingdom Come, and Metallica!

ELP and Genesis were a little before my time...  :D

But if you have a voice like Greg Lake...  :o  It's gorgeous!

Im a big fan of 70s progressive rock Dee.

The singer in my band cant resist strumming some cords of "From the Beginning" from ELP just to get me to sing. I dont have the power that Lake has, thats for sure!
