Disgusted would have to be the most "instinctive" guru out there IMO... and his instincts are generally right even if even he doesn't know the science behind why an idea might/does work...

THe sad thing is that according to Adam you can eat ANYTHING as long as you stick with a specific Number of cals. THerefore He would  HAVE TO agree with the Coors light example!

Thanks bro. In all seriousness people try to make things way to complicated. If I need to know something for the sake of making soomeone look better on stage then trust me I know what I doing. I'm not a scientist, but somehow I bring people in shape for shows over and over again when no one else seems to be able to.

For example, I worked with Betty Pariso for 4 days before the Olympia this year. She had just placed a dismal 5th at the Atlantic City show. I did what was possible in that amount of time and she placed 6th at the Olympia and ended up beating Iris Kyle in the muscualrity round. Currently she is 5 weeks out from the Arnold and in the best shape of her life. When I train people I train them as individuals and not with cookie cutter plans. I am the one people come to when their trainer screws up and I am not referring to King, but many other people over the years. The difference now is that I will not do it in secret any more behind their trainers back and have them take credit for it! I will admit that I need to work on my comedy act.  :'(

In the offseason I think that you just need to eat  enough carbs to add some calories and not too many that you get fat. Pretty simple.

After reading this thread, it looks like Discusted has an old school and commonsense and very effective approach to his training and nutrition philosphy. Like many other "Gurus" who would rather manipulate the drugs, seems he manipulates the diet instead!

Mine or what I recommend.  ;D OK, I like squats. My favorite exercise. The rest would be leg extensions and some legpress, leg curl. I like the vertical legpress best. I like to go as high as 30 reps and leg extensions. I love to blast out reps until my quads are numb. Mainly high reps on legs in general. Squats I keep around 10 to 12 reps.

Sadly no. I talked to him only once. To be honest I kinda knew that I would probabley not talk to him again. He does seem like a nice guy though. Plus it was nice to talk to someone who I looked up to as a kid and possibly get to train him. That would been pretty cool.

why so high on the reps, i get better results with 6-8 on upper body movements.

Just what I prefer. Everyone is different but there is a limit to how low you can go in reps before you work more of your tendon strength and not the muscle. 6 is pushing it. 8 to 12 reps is a good range for growth.
