If by bodybuilding as a sport you mean guys wearing bikinis, oiled up and bouncing off diving boards, and by diving boards I mean penises, then yes I'd consider it a sport.

The point is that those guys do things that are admireable. People often say " I would like to throw a fast ball like A-rod or Hit like Jeter. I would like to have the hands of Marvin Harrison or the arm of Peyton manning. No one says I want to talk like Ronnie Coleman or have the health of Flex.

...and no one says "I want to talk like A-rod"...or..."I want the health of Orlando Pace"

If you're going to use a context...use a correct one. A BB fan says "I'd like to look like Mark Dugdale", or "man, I'd love to have arms like Ronnie Coleman".

very very few.  because they realize it is an unrealistic goal unless you are trying to be a pro bodybuilder.

"want to" and "have the ability to" are two different worlds.

I see thousands of fans every year that want to...

It's tough with all that goes into it.  I used to think just juicing would get me big but it's a whole lifestyle.

And THIS is what you envision when you think about BB?

It's all in the eye of the beholder...

Indeed.

I think it's a sport because you COMPETE against others. At the end of the day it's a competition.

The percentages are the same in BB as any other sport...5-10%.

As I said...you see what you want to see.

You look at a BB and automatically think "oiled up men in thongs..gay...etc."

I look at a BB and think....it's a BB.

Maybe you should look at yourself and try and figure out why you automatically have this train of thought when you see a man...

haha these "guys" sure are confused aren't they bob ;D
