kirk squatted 1000 for 2. i'm sure he could get 675 for 10. tom platz could do 585 for at least 15 in his prime. JP fux is on video squatting 675 for somewhere around 6 reps.

assuming if you will that luke doesn't go to the kind of depth kirk did, 675 for 10 is believable given how enormous the guy is. and how you would say a 675x10 squat translates into a 1300 pound single is beyond me. where in the world does doing 10 reps with something mean your single is DOUBLE that?  ???

for another example, andy bolton pulled 800 for 8 raw a while back, his single is 1003. that should give you an idea.

I'm sorry...I forgot you've eaten yourself to 40% bodyfat, and are shooting for a 1,700 total, with gear, in a powerlifting meet, so you're the expert now. 

How many powerlifters do you know that can squat 675 for 10?  Seriously....no squat suit, no compression shorts, just a belt and knee wraps.   
If you think Luke can do 675 for 10 deep reps, thats fine.  But, I think that may warrant another stay in the nuthouse on your behalf.

chad aichs is doing 5-6 reps with 750+ without even a belt, let alone knee wraps, and he's going to legal depth. john bernor did a set of 5 with 750 beltless and wrapless. unless you're retarded (which you might be), you had to have noticed when i said that luke most likely isn't going as deep as a powerlifter (meaning i never claimed luke was doing "10 deep reps" you friggin' moron), so 7 plates for what i'd call a "bodybuilder" rep, a set of 10 with belt and wraps? yeah. doable.

of course, you're one of those jackasses who would scream "liar!!! he'd be the strongest squatter ever!!!" the moment someone said there was a bodybuilder who did 23 reps ass to grass with 495 with no knee wraps years after his prime.  ::)

Luke is huge without a dought.Hes also as asthetic as a fridge and will never place top ten in an upper tier show so the massive amounts of juice he takes are a waste. Also nice spandex.WTF? Chad Aichs is doing 90lbs more, with only half the reps....so he and Luke Wood are close to the same squat strength. 

I guarantee NO bodybuilder can do 675lbs for 10 reps.  There are VERY few powerlifters who would be able to do near that. 

Platz had knee wraps on.  He also had his hip wrapped.  I believe it was the left one. 


We all know your posting history....just because you've fallen in love with powerlifting over the past year, doesn't mean you're now the expert on all things strength related.

Hey Zach, do you have a link for that video on youtube?? Man , I would love to own that video. I saw the trailer at JP's site when it was released, around 2003, but the fucker took that trailer out of his site!! :'(

And you are absolutely right. His form on that squat was absolutely perfect. He went down totally upright, with a very long and wide spread grip on the bar. It was done AFTER leg extensions as a pre-exaustion method, and he finished with HACK SQUATS, before proceeding to hamstrings. Awesome video. If anyone have a link to that, I would appreciate it a lot.
