I've not clicked your blue line, since that takes so long and I haven't the time. I may do later...
Notes on war: these are from discussion on TV at 9am GMT today:
Blair kissed ass with Clinton, then had to do a 180% flipflop and suck Bush off.
Blair is doing his lap of honour.
99% of Brits were against this war and marched and protested, but they went in anyways.
Now 91% of Brits who were vehemently against invading Iraq say that they feel strongly that now that we're there, we ought finish the job.
Blair and Bush have fallen out.
it's not a withdrawal, it's a retreat. They're taking out 2000 soldiers and putting back in a new 1500. (Prince Harry's regiment). Noone knows who is coming home and whether we ought to roll out the bunting and put the flags out.
I'm old enough to remember the first war there, when they attempted to takeover Kuwait (and Britain had invested a great deal there). They didn't finish that war, and when we pulled out, they set fire to all the oil wells, which burned for years. They had to go back in this time.
I thought. I was one of the 1% of Brits who thought that we had to go back again (having grown up in America).
One of the people who called the debate show I watched this morning was going back to Iraq next week. He said they don't want us there, there's no way of fixing it. I cried and the crowd on the TV applauded.
