I go to UConn, and that's only because I pay less than $15k a year to go. There's no point in paying $40k a year for your undergrad. That and the fact my parents have 2 other kids in college right now and if they pay $40k for one, they'd be paying $40k for the other two.

What's wrong with starting your collegiate studies as community college? I see no issue starting in a local community college while still deciding what you want to do with your life.

I did my first two years at a community college.  At that point, my choices were either wait a few years to be in a position to go away to school, or knock out the AA locally.  The coursework is pretty similar the first two years anyway, and unless you're entering a field where school/degree carry weight, it isn't a huge deal.

Stupidity out of not applying for any yes. Then again, I handled my college application process terribly. No scholarships, didn't visit any schools or anything. I got into every school I applied to though, hahahahaha! No point in wasting money on undergrad considering I can do whatever I want afterwards with my GPA. BOOM!

Dude I went away to school as a music major... A conservatory actually... I was good... DAMN good. Eventually though... I just didn't like it... 2 years of expensive education wasted. I would have been better going to a CC... After I figured out what I wanted to do, I went to a state funded very good school... perhaps you've seen them in the NCAA tourney... VCU actually.

I see no issue with it what so ever and I actually recommend it for kids who just aren't sure about what they want to do with their lives.
