I dunno what's up with me lately (prob. the accutane) but I've been having serious hate issues with complete strangers who are obese.

I have no right to hate them or anything... I used to be effin' obese. But I find myself staring them down and showing disgust towards them when i see them walking down the street

Obese people at the gym, I smile at them and talk to some of them. I love to offer them encouragement while they're at the gym cuz that's admirable, and I want them all to succeed cuz the feeling of losing that weight is better than anything else out there.

But I saw some 5'5, 200+lbs lady today, smoking and drinking her coffee this morning, and I refused to move out of her way. If she can't respect her self, why should I respect her?

I dunno why I think like that... I'm blaming Accutane.

Do any of you guys find yourselves in that situation? There's so many people that are obese and think it's perfectly healthy to be that way.

Scientists from the german university of Jena have proved that genetics play virtually no role with obesity.

They had some groups of mice. One was with normal genes and fatty food, one was with altered genes and healthy food and one was with altered genes and fatty foods.
All groups where fed the same amount of calories.
The normal mice and the altered mice with healthy food did NOT gain weight, but the group of mice with altered genes and bad food gained weight, even if they had the same amount of calories.

This proves that fat people are fat because they eat like shit. When they eat healthy, they stay lean.

I agree that environment plays the largest role in obesity, but this is not good "proof". The altered transgenic mice might have 1 or 2 out of thousands of genes altered that are responsible for obesity (including enzyme secretion, GI motility, absorbption, membrane permeabilty, macronutrient metabolism, etc...). Hardly conclusive.

At least Donkeyboy is reading some research. This board is always surprising. No surprise that some obscure study done on mice is extrapolated to explain human obesity. Reminds me how silly bodybuilders are when they make statements about genetics and bodybuilders. How on earth does anyone know anything about that subject? All we have is major guessing and anecdotal supposing which is hardly good science or established fact. What is evident from reading Getbig is that bodybuilders are hardlearners. These blokes are dense and no amount of reading or education makes any difference to their brains. They call themselves ridiculous names and post heroically on a musclehead forum where hardly anyone even trains.

About how 99.9999999999999999% of fat people have a complete lack of willpower........ Followed by Vince trying to defend all fat people in general and not making any sense in the process.
