dont really care much for his moniker "the gift"
seems a bit narcisstic

While I used to think the very same thing, it's not that Phil calls himself that due to his thinking he's the next Mr. O or anything regarding that.
It's "the gift" his parents gave him- good genetics- and the reason why he got that nickname.

He coulda been 3rd at the Arnold and no one would have blinked.   It was that close, and it looks like he's taking on those trouble areas.

Guys like Branch, Toney, Dexter, even Vic ( #3 thru 10 at the Olympia level)... they're NOT going to change/improve much between the Arnold and the Olympia.  They've competed for a decade or more and have essentially neared their physical limitations.  Phil isn't going to peak for 5 years.  He CAN make a jump over 2-3 of the same guys from the Arnold, at the Olympia, by showing the judges he's better than last time, while everyone else has the same thing they brought to the table last time.

geez you hyping phil........gasp. would have never have thought it.

dude give it up. victor is genetically superior, so is melvin. phil is a good up and comer but he needs alot of work. IF he does progress he can win it. your making the assumption that first he can and second he will. also victor can come in, in better condition.

240 aka mr make baby without having sex

we should not look too far into the future as things are not guaranteed..injuries do occur you know. Plus, new guys enter the stage.

in the next 3 years, can phil beat the X man, Victor or Dexter?

after that anything goes

The insertion gods just weren't that friendly.

You mean insertions for chest or Quads?

He has been recognized to have a great chest before so that wouldn't make any sense...

I don't think 240 is hyping me up, it is just that he realizes how far I've come along in such a short time period that's all. Also, genetically superior means what because there are many many variables involved that aren't adding up ok, especially since Victor and Melvin along with every pro has evolved over their many years of training. I haven't even come close to those years in the gym, so I'm kind of playing in a game of catch-me-if-you-can, which for most I have, but not all yet. I also think Victor, Melvin along with every pro has their strengths and weakenesses which makes them spectacular (some more than others) however we are so very different at the same time. When I competed against Victor it was well apparent that he has that OMG appearance, which is what I think we all want on stage.

Weird but all his structural and proportional weaknesses really stand out when he's carrying a little fat.

And he doesn't look BIG. He looks exactly like he does in contest shape with just some fat added on top. No extra muscle.

I'm sorry, I'll work on it lol. I suppose you were at the show right?

Comparing his arms to the size of the DVD gives you an idea of how big they are.  :o
Not only the size, the detail of his arm is sick.

Funny the way the internet is, when it comes to critisizms.  Its almost like people want to go so far as to look up your ass and the next poster thinks that's totally normal.  Perverted would be a more proper term.

i agree for the most part with what your saying. it just annoys the shit out of me with all these guys hyping you saying "he looks totally different" etc.. which isnt true. it puts high expectations, better yet false expectations on you. you have what it takes to win, but what if's dont make you win. flex had it too and never won the big show. im a fan and hope you do, but your have a ways to go(which you realize). im a bodybuilding nobody, so take it for what its worth, nothing ;D

I wasn't attacking you Phil, just shedding some light on the other poster.

I just hope that you don't add too much weight too soon and lose the midsection

I swear this to me is perfection..I aspire to this:

I don't really care for the rest of your gains

if I looked like this I would walk around in posing trunks 24/7 doing a front double bi

what is wrong with Phil? why isn't he wearing the clothes/insignia of all his sponsors?
he needs to walk around in an "egg beater" string tank top with Gakic stamped on his forehead

look at Jay, have you ever seen him without something that says "muscletech"?

The Arnold? No, watched it on video. And I had you placing higher than you actually did.

Don't misunderstand me. I think you look better than Ronnie Coleman's physique did at the last Mr. O. I think you have a great physique and great potential. However, as I'm sure you know, your physique ain't quite "there" (i.e. perfection) yet. That's what I was referencing.

he won pro card from the ifbb,,he already is perfect,,ifbb dont give you no pro card if you dont look perfect

all the weaknessess you talking about are when you compare him to the top of the top and he is pretty much one in the top now days

when you fight with dex and vic in call outs you dont have anything to worry about,,he is on the right path

Really?! This is about the dumbest statement I've ever heard with regard to the IFBB. There are plenty of guys who were FAR from perfect and got pro cards. Jim Quinn, Jeremy Freeman, Skip Lacour (and yes, the IFBB made him a pro - HE turned it down), Paco Bautista, Joel Stubbs, Desmond Miller, Chris Cook, the list is too long.

quinn is perfect
freeman is perfect
skip is perfect
paco is perfect
stubbs is perfect
miller is perfect

ifbb will not give you a pro card or think about giving you a pro card if you are not perfect,,all of those you mentioned have quality of muscle mass that is beyond phenominal,,all of this guys got beyond ripped while maintaining high quality muscle mass on their frame,,

its the quality of muscle/physiqe that makes you win a pro card! not necessarily the size of the muscle!
remember that

pay attention at what weight kamali won his pro card! it is the quality of muscle on your frame that makes the ifbb award you a pro card,,

after that it is game open for size

Explain Kamali or Ray Arde, Stan McQauy, Kris Dim. Far from perfect, and far from the best in the field. They were given cards.
