My dad still has all his hair at 67, but I think that liter of brandy a week he knocks down eliminates all the nasty Testo that flips to DHT and makes for shiny head!  I'm not doing that bad considering, but it ain't all full.

I don't know anything about Nailtiques but NailTek Hydration Therapy sounds like what you need.  My nails are so much better now it's like they are someone elses.

You don't have to spend any additional money to improve the strength and condition of your nails with commercial preparations.

Infact, your nails and the condition of them can be very helpful in revealing the state of your overall health, as certain nutritional deficiencies will make themselves evident in the state of your nails.

It used to be that my nails were ALWAYS breaking, and the only way to grow them was to keep them constantly polished. The problem with that, is you have to maintain it constantly, and constant use of nail polish, along with the nail polish remover during frequent manicures is that it dries out the nail, making the actual condition of the nail worse. Many commercial preparations make nails so hard that the occasional bump will cause them to break. In that situation, you'd be better off having the nail bend, then flex back into position, rather than breaking.

Now I am able to grow my nails very long without having to constantly keep them polished.

To improve the condition of your nails, look to your diet. If you take supplements, you'll find that by switching from compressed tablets to supplements in gelatin capsules, you'll find your nails improving in strength and durability.

If none of your supps are come in gelatin capsule, another inexpensive alternative is to simply add gelatin to your diet. Knox unflavoured gelatin can be added to protein shakes etc. Or you can simply start eating alot of jello

To improve the condition of your nails, regularly push back your cuticles, and massage the nail beds. Anything the improves blood flow to the fingers will also be helpful.

You should start noticing results in a few months.

ps - Gelatin or jello is not the most suitable if follwing a vegan or vegetarian diet.
Vegetarians should consider regularly supplementing their diets with silica, horsetail etc.

There are a bunch of natural herbs etc that have been traditionally supplemented into the diet to supplement the nutritional components for beneficial optimal fingernail health. Whew I hope that last sentence passes FDA.  ;)

My nails have been weak like this my whole life.

  It's probably from being vaccinated.

I bought it at a local hair salon.

My nails are not hard using this stuff, they're pretty flexible.. ....  You initially put on 2 coats of this and then each day you put on one coat for a week.  Then you're supposed to take it off w/polish remover and start over.  But I usually just peel the polish off in (almost) one piece instead and then start over.

{giggle}  peeling it off in one piece is so tempting to do. I used to sometimes do that with nailpolish.  :D
I do 2 coats basecoat, 2 coats colour, then seal with 2 coats of top coat. That many coats and it comes off in 1 piece. The challenge with that tho is it usually takes the top protective layer of your nail off with it at the same time as well, thus resulting in exascerbating the condition of weakened, soft & peeling nails. It also leaves an uneven surface on the nailbed. As damaging as they may be, you'd actually be better off to use a non-acetone nail polisher remover instead of peeling it off.  Plus too, when the nail surface is uneven, no matter how slight, it detracts from the maincure. The surface won't refract the light as well, and the uneven surface can cause a tendency for the polish to smear as well as dry unevenly. The smoother the surface, the better the finished application will be.
