Ill summarize a Bob C training video for getbig:
squats give you a thick waist,
Can someone explain this?
I don't see the oblique growth. My obliques have never gotten sore after squats, or deadlifts.
Do they mean growth of the transverse abdominus? Because that isn't a muscle with any real growth potential. The trasverse abdominus grows by tightening, so that should make the waist smaller.
Do they mean thick waist because of some form of strength loss, and thus a resulting "looseness" causing a thicker appearance? Because in that case simple training of the transverse abdominus would rectify it.
I would like to know the "reason" behind this.
Or is it just another lame bodybuilding myth?
