I recently saw his DVD.

Impressive stuff.
Some crazy things like wearing wrist straps on the machine preacher curl, one arm at a time.

You can really see him tearing it up.  At some points, you can sense a bit of oxygen debt when he's talking to someone else througout his set.

Every once in a while he'll use some dumbells too, moving away from a machine.  You can almost feel the agony of using free weights for a set or two.

Hahahahaha... World Class Physique.... Hahahahaha

You took your 2 second GloboGym commercial spot and looped it over and over again on 3 discs didn't you????

Should have called it "Beach Physique", "Local Gym Bod", or "Cover-Boy Training"

Ill summarize a Bob C training video for getbig:

train, dont strain

its bodybuilding not powerlifting

no ones gonna ask me how much I bench onstage

squats give you a big but and thick waist, and bench press isnt a good chest exercise

its x frame training

Bob, hope this helps.

Can someone explain this?

I don't see the oblique growth.  My obliques have never gotten sore after squats, or deadlifts.
Do they mean growth of the transverse abdominus?  Because that isn't a muscle with any real growth potential.  The trasverse abdominus grows by tightening, so that should make the waist smaller.

Do they mean thick waist because of some form of strength loss, and thus a resulting "looseness" causing a thicker appearance?  Because in that case simple training of the transverse abdominus would rectify it.

I would like to know the "reason" behind this.

Or is it just another lame bodybuilding myth?
