Lower back
« on: April 29, 2007, 01:15:30 AM »
For lower back, i do sets of half deadlift (10-15 reps per set), inside a power rack.

I train at home and i expect to get a roman chair, probably the Powertec one.

Is it a good purchase, or deadlift is enough for the lower back ?

Thank you for your help.

I think stifflegs and good mornings would do just as much, I don't know that you need a roman chair unless you want to spend the money.

I'm not sure a Roman Chair is essential for a home gym.  You can do plenty of lower back strengthening exercises on the floor or on a bench.

As a guy that has 2 crappy disks, Good mornings are great as with rack deadlifts. I also find for years before I lift anything I like to do a couple of sets of hypers unweighted for around 25 reps just to loosen up. I have a long drive to the gym after work and I just like to get the blood flowing before I do anything else.

Do deads, stifflegs & good mornings. Spending money on a roman chair would be a waste of money, not as productive as the ones i've mentioned.
