Something isn't right here and there is no way to resolve this impasse on line. What interests me is how Lee Priest, Keith Jones, Milos Sarcev and myself all see things re bodybuilding and contests somewhat the same. We all state that the IFBB is lacking and probably corrupt. To counter our charges we have Shawn Ray and Bob Chick. The more we learn from the current champs the more corrupt the IFBB seems. The more Milos posts the less integrity Bob and Shawn have.

Clearly an athlete's rep MUST be elected by those he is supposed to represent. Lee Priest is rightfully not happy with the current rep because that person did bugger all when there was an issue last year re competing in other organizations. It very much looks like the officials of the IFBB are a tightly controlled group and all say the same thing. The privates and corporals all obey whoever is running the IFBB .

The issues that won't go away are the controversial contests, poor judging system, lack of good judges, inadequate prizemoney, medical insurance and so on. It just is not acceptable that contests can be fixed by IFBB officials. If you want an honest organization then for goodness sake make all positions elected ones and stop the nonsense of appointing so-called vice-presidents and even athletes reps. Athlete's rep my ass.

Chick,

do you beleive that contest fixing takes place in the IFBB?

chick made it clear that they don't "fix" contests, but athletes do get "gifted" first place when they don't deserve it. i don't have an ifbb rulebook so i can't understand the difference.

It's intelligence you need, not a rule book.

I've never used the word "gifted"...you did.

I have obviously struck a raw nerve!

I am not interested in playing the hating game on this one!  Was merely curious to your motivations and concept of the term 'professionalism'.

Here you go, in case you couldn't find it.

What happened at the Ironman wasn't MY fault...it was a miscommunication betwen Manion and Sandy as to update her on the changes...it was addressed and brought current at every show since

Quite the comeback after everything I said and pointed out. ;)

Now, why would you ever think that what happened in Ironman was your fault?
I never said that...
But, if you really want to talk about it - than you should realize that PROPER CHANNELS BS is exactly that...a BS.
Going through PROPER CHANNELS officials somehow miscommunicated...ACTUAL LY  our issue is from such an importance - Jim even forgot to mention it to OTHER IFBB officials...

You would assume that with PROPER CHANNELS proper protocols would take place and accepted motion by the respected IFBB athletes representative was put on top of the list of priorities and emphasized to each and every judge that starting 2007 (exactly with the Ironman) every judge...and certainly HEAD JUDGE ;) would know that MORE COMPARISONS should be called - regardless...
That was discussed through PROPER CHANNELS, properly accepted and should have been properly enforced... ;D

So next time you talk about PROPER CHANNELS - THINK ABOUT IT...

I prefer doing it MY WAY...and instead of "beating around the bush" and saying "maybe we could-a, would-a, should-a...be proper" I simply say WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID:

and that is - ATHLETES ARE BEING DISRESPECTED BY NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPETE...AS THEY ARE NOT BEING COMPARED...

While judges maybe didn't see it that way - and certainly didn't want to disrespect the athletes  - THEY ARE NOT INTENTIONALLY DOING IT...

Also, i didn't say it in confrontational way...I said it EXACTLY as I am stating right now...as the MATTER OF FACT which probably judges didn't consider it...

This is obviously an issue you need to take up with Jim Manion....as I did everything I had to do. I suggest emailing him and letting him know your dissatisfaction with the I.M. prejudging, which has already been brought up, corrected, and hasn't happened since (which you choose to ignore).

Great...you do it YOUR way...I'll do it mine, and Sinatra his...

While judges maybe didn't see it that way - and certainly didn't want to disrespect the athletes  - THEY ARE NOT INTENTIONALLY DOING IT...

Nor was it intentionally done that Sandy wasn't made aware of the changes...but you continue to beat a dead horse for the sake of argument.....IT'S BEEN MADE RIGHT.

Also, i didn't say it in confrontational way...I said it EXACTLY as I am stating right now...as the MATTER OF FACT which probably judges didn't consider it...

It seems sensible that Jim Manion should be at every pro contest to make sure the rules are followed and that decisions can be made to solve protests and problems. If he is unable to be present then someone who can make decisions should be there to run things properly. It just seems like things can be run better than they are at the moment. Manion's job should be an annually elected one, too.

Bob, do you realise how condescending you are on the internet? The next rep should have some tact and diplomacy.

THE ATHLETES AS PAYING MEMBERS SHOULD BE THE ONES WHO VOTE ON ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS IN THE IFBB.........

Seems to me if athletes can't make it to meetings they could still vote and either mail their choices or do so online. How hard is it to hold elections?

Chick, I seriously doubt a Suspended "Alleged" Drug Dealer who pled No Contest,
A Former member of the IFBB shorty without a job,
And a Fat Man wrapped in Bed Sheets for clothes living on an Island is the South Pacific will ever really impact, change or affect the challenges in our sport and federation. :-\
So let the mud slinging continue, as the Orange County Register is full of bad news and this form of intertainment from clowns with absolutely no relevant effect on our sport act like Industry Insiders ::)

Just keeping it real son.
Brilliant is a word "Not" to be used on this Forum.
It is definately more of a Barnum and Bailey atmosphere here than one of Scholarly Postings with charesters who dress up as Roman Gladiators and Marvel Comic Book Charecters, like Superman.
Not to mention Dom Delouise making Cameo Postings from time to time from the Big Island! ;)
