I have a question too. How do you know that it would be $1 and not $5, $10 or $20 more?

Thats too simple...illigals do more then pick fruit. They provide cheap labor on construction sites...clean our hotels..and do a myriad of other shit jobs. There is no easy answer to this question. I'm for way more border patrol agents and a wall...principly to stop any terrorists from getting through.

We have no illegal immigrants here in Oz and we're already paying more. No big deal - we don't have as many big race issues either.

I am not smart enough to calculate the impact of removing ten million employees from valuable productive infrastructural positions in our economy. The $1 figure was an estimate. Once we determine if removing illegals is worth the pocketbook hit, we can talk about the various numbers.

Yours is a good question, but if you ask people if they would pay $1 more, they might say "sure, deport them all at once." But if you ask them if they would pay $20 more, they'll say "no way, leave the illegals alone."

By the way, questions and arguments like these were brought up in Britain and in America long ago when men stood up to fight slavery(free labor) and to abolish it completely. Men who opposed them and who supported slavery always brought up the economical impact that would follow if they abolished slavery.

Look at America today, slavery is no more yet your economy is still strong. Now, all you have to do is deal with your dependence on illegals(cheap labor) and your dependence on oil.

This takes into account we have a better wall..how about exporting them. It costs us 50 grand per prisoner..how about sending em elsewhere at 25 grand or 10 grand.

I'd have no problem making all illegals that are working citizens and deporting all non-working and imprisoned illegals. And at the same time securing our borders, both north and south.

Working illegals play a valuable role, it's the bums that don't work and drain society that have to go.

Close the borders slowly and grant amnesty to the 12 million already here.

Your fear mongering over illegals leaving is getting annoying.. First, the US admits more legals immigrants than almost any other country. Second, if we just closed the borders then prices would rise slowly and so would wages.

It would be impossible to measure who's working and who's not.. Plus it would just cost even more to deport people and throw them into prison.

The best solution is amnesty, followed by closing the southern border.

Its cost like 50 grand to incarcerate somebody for 1 year..roughly anyway. I think u can deport them etc as long as u have a way to make suire most end up back in. What they have to do is stop the born here=automatic citizenship crap. Its costing us all a fortune. Canada had it and found out it was a huge mistake.

The north american union is dedicated to importing mexican labor (or exporting work there) using the same monetary system. The amero, the new buck, is being talked about a lot, as is the giant road to connect Can to mex thru Texas.

After that, we'll deliver our brand of freedom to S. America. That's why Hugo Chavez and his little alliance are so damn nervous. They know the US will enjoy the Canadian resources to the north, but will certainly need a little more fuel in mexico to energize this transformation. That is where Venezulan oil comes in. And if our actions in Iraq coupled with our being crushed by chinese mnfg is any example, we don't have the economic capacity to pay mkt value.

I would much rather do that then pay for Jorge and his 8 kids. I am sick of these people not speaking English, taking our money and not ASSIMILATING into our culture. Get rid of the ones that are here, put businesses over there and then build a wall they can't scale, using....Mexican labor and put them on the other side. Honestly, Americans used to do these jobs before and they should do them again.
