Australian bodybuilding ... is there a future??
« on: May 10, 2007, 03:40:36 AM »
We produce some great natural bodybuilders down under.  However, the problem is, as soon as they start winning a few shows they disappear off the radar.

Australia has never produced a Mr Olympia or an Arnold champion ( the only two tournaments that matter).

What is going wrong down-under?

Are Aussies just more interested in the beach and babes, and less concerned about building a freaky physique?

I was going to write something about all Aussies being descended from rapists, murders, thieves and sheep rustlers but then you would fit in well at Pro shows :P

Well the ANB is a joke first off - as soon as they get some decent drug testing criteria they may help improve the sport. I mean, the winners of each class should be tested instead of picking anyone at random. Who cares if the guy that placed last is on the gear??

Simple we dont have access to the amount of aas, gh and all the other goodies the states and europe has. Its all dried up here because our fuck head government would rather focus on cleaning up on steroids then putting a stop to our ever growing ecstasy and ice epidemic that has hit our streets.

The great late Sonny Schimidt won the Masters Mr Olympia!!!!

Isn't it such a blessing that governments focus on AAS rather than the proven recreational drugs that causes deaths daily....God love the Government.... ::)

There have been several world class Australian bodybuilders. None have won the Mr Olympia but perhaps Bev Francis should have won the Ms Olympia many times.

Peter McCarthy, Adrian Batho, Dan Mahoney, Luke Wood, Lee Priest, John Terilli, Roger Walker, Frank Colombera, Terry Mitsos, Les Spendlove, Guy Grundy, Sonny Schmidt, and many others. Some won the NABBA Mr Universe like Terilli and others won international titles like Walker and McCarthy. Lots of talent downunder.

Again "Hank Wood" has been exposed as another clueless troll. Australia (per capita) has produced some great bodybuilders over the years as noted by VB (Peter McCarthy, Adrian Batho, Dan Mahoney, Luke Wood, Lee Priest, John Terilli, Roger Walker, Frank Colombera, Terry Mitsos, Les Spendlove, Guy Grundy, Sonny Schmidt) all these guys developed world class physiques.

If Australia's population (20 odd million) was comparable to the US (300 million), the pro ranks would be full of Aussies.
