I'm truly sorry to hear about your accident big boy, but a few things...

One of the local gym monsters said "don't worry, it's just a little blood" as I held up my hand in shock. I said to him "just a little blood? Wanna see it up close?" and showed him what was left of my finger and he told me I should go to the hospital. I realized he was absolutely right...

WTF...  It took the profound wisdom of this steroid pumping freak to set you straight.  This wasn't a damn paper-cut.

The desk man called the gym supervisor, who came and called for an ambulance. He then took out a first-aid kit and wrapped up my finger in a gauze.

The desk man couldn't have called the ambulance himself or wrapped the finger up on his own?  WTF, was he a damn retard?

I called my mom who came soon after the ambulance had.

You fucking pussy!  Real soldiers of iron would have shrugged it off!  You obviously aren't part of the animalpak crew, pussy!

In all honesty, shit happens, heal well and then go back and crank out a few reps with the 105's to make you feel better.  Next time, leave a shovel under the bench or something for good measure, report back again with more pictures.

A similar thing happened to me a few years back. I was warming up with some 10 pounders and then, without thinking, I went to put them back on the rack and jammed my finger between the dumbell and the rack. Not nearly as bad as your accident, although, the tip of my finger did get to the size of a big grape and then went all black and numb for a couple of weeks.

Heh, I once snapped my arm because I didn't want to lose an arm wrestle. Now that's hardcore.

i do the same since i did the same as figgs, but for my luck i hit the dumbells on the floor with the iron between my fingers and the plate on the sides. The sound was so loud i just iimagined if my hand was there i would break it...
 never throw dumbells where you cant see where it is falling (can hit someone elses foot...saw that many times LOL)

 One of the worse accidents i saw was a guy doing dumbell pullovers...when he was bringin the dumbell to his legs to rack it, the weight was too much and he droped the dumbell in his 'package' insted of his leg...It was not on the target, but lets say his workout was finished for the day LOL
