Life after juicing.
« on: May 23, 2007, 05:56:18 PM »
Anyone here been on for a year or more and decided to go off the gear and take some time off from training? How was your mental state? I read all the time that you feel depressed when u go off the roids but I've also heard that it can feel quite relaxing. More non-chalant about things in general and a greater ability to focus on the more important things in life.

Yeah I've been on for more than a year, no more than 500mg per week, sometimes about 200mg...but am planning to come off soon. Anyone who's done this pls chime in.

Same here. I wouldn't wanna deal with the loss of size and strength that would occur with going clean. Remember the "off" pictures of Gunter that someone posted here some time ago? Yeesh.

I don't care about the loss of muscle. I think I'll look better off the roids anyway. I trained natural for 13 years before I juiced. But yeah, once I did, I abused it. I'm talking about the mental aspect of it. I don't feel good on the roids mentally..

You'll have to make sure your diet is in order, as it becomes even more important when off. Personally, I don't have a lot of letdown when off because I don't use the harsher, more potent drugs that cause water retention. For that reason I only lose about 7 or 8 lbs and actually feel more athletic.

As far as depression goes, I never really experienced that but I have had libido problems. Nothing that wasn't remedied fairly easily with clomid though.

The only thing I've ever even considered using is var, and that would be reluctantly.  Last time I checked, most people got into lifting to begin with because they enjoyed lifting weights/exercise along with an addiction of some sorts that develops.  Most people workout simply because they are VAIN, COMPULSIVE and are trying to fill some kind of VOID that is there in their life (I'm talking about people who have developed their physique to the point where they could compete at a local show and do decently).

I've heard all kinds of claims as to why people workout/compete/etc., but the bottom line is that it's a vain, selfish, compulsive action when performed to the extent which allows someone to compete.  It's that simple.  Most people don't like to think of themselves as vain/compulsive/selfish, but that's reality.  There isn't really any way to sugarcoat it.

Unless your genetics/dietary habits are just HORRIBLE, there is no reason to use gear.  You're not going to be the next Ronnie Coleman.  Get the absolute most you can out of what you were born with, combined with busting butt in the gym and eating right and LIVE with it.  If you want more than that...you are living a lie, IMO.

I don't think it's always about being vain..but your last paragraph is spot on.

If a person choses to juice it is their decision as it is their life and knowone hear especially the pipsqueaks/anti-drug squad of the board has the right to pass judgement on them.

I don't think i could handle coming off and losing a lot of size.   I see guys in the gym blow up and shrink down all the time.  I'll do hrt when i get older, but for now, if your not gonna compete, whats the point.

True..

But trying telling that to the anti-roid people here and they'll respond with a pic as though that has something to do with the topic at hand. I don't approve of steroid use, but I don't honestly give someone a hard time because they're using the stuff.
