I know two guys who had their prep done by Palumbo. One was a superheavyweight and one was a welter weight. He gave the same diet to both of the guys. How in the fuck can a superheavyweight diet on the same thing as a welterweight? Well they can't.

The superheavyweight lost 42 pounds in the first month of the diet. He kept telling Palumbo he was losing weight too fast and was told not to worry about it because it was mostly water. I watched the guys strength drop dramatically in one month with his squats going from 600 pounds for 8 reps down to 495 for 6 reps. Palumbo still wouldn't change anything. He was losing muscle fast.

Final results were a stringy, flat physique because Palumbo had him carb up on white rice. One cup to be exact. Yes, one cup of white rice was all the carbs he took in for the whole carb up. Is this guy fucking serious?

I am sure his crap works on some people. Problem is he uses a cookie cutter diet approach.

He is the very last person I would take dieting advice from.

Who are all the countless pros he has helped? I only know of Tony Freeman.

Like I said, I am sure his dieting style works on some people but the person I mentioned above isn't the first one I have heard him fucking up. When you diet, you make adjustments based on how you look. You don't just eat nothing for 16 weeks and throw in one cheat meal a week with no carb up and expect to look awesome. This is basically what he advises.

When it comes to competition dieting & supplementation (non-chemical & chemical), very few know better than Dave...

Yes, and it shows.  ::)

With the average IQ in the US hovering at 98, it's easy to see how moronic sub-98 BBers would follow the advice of a convicted felon who has distorted his own body to epic proportions abusing Oils, GH, AAS, IGF, etc etc etc

Competitive BBers are not considered the sharpest knives in the drawer, nor will they ever be. Thus, "a market" for distorted freaks like Palumbo.

I have used a diet very similar to his for a contest prep.  I ate a tiny bit more carbs than Dave recomends.  Well it works very well and I got in shape very fast and did not lose too much muscle.  I agree with what the one guy said though too long on that diet without adjustments will cause you to lose too much weight too fast.  and once your body is in high gear like that it is very hard to turn it around quickly.  I would say timing is very important with dave's diet.

Ego lifting? You lost me there. The guy weighed 305 when he started the diet and was very strong till the diet took care of that.

When a persons strength drops that much, it is a good indicator of muscle loss which is exactly what happened.

I agree with you. I use a diet kind of similar too but I make adjustments. I also can't see how someone can start eating basically nothing at the beginning of the diet. Leaves you with less then nothing at the end of the diet and then no carb up. A recipe for disaster.

A long, endlessly debatable theory that lifts like those (600 for 8, 495 for 8, etc) don't build leg muscle like moderate weight/endless reps.

I can agree with that. The guy liked to train heavy though. My point was just how his strength dropped.

Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on this. It's one of 2 things, either you're lying and just completely made this story up, or 2 your friend who Dave helped out, didn't actually follow Dave's Diet. If you're going to follow this diet you cannot cheat, you have to stay in ketosis, otherwise you're just screwing yourself...and this is out of Dave's control...and no, the set up cheat meal that is put in place on the diet is not what I mean by "cheating."

As far as strength, everyone on every type of diet loses some strength, steroids or not. Further, a lot of people negate the fact that extra water weight helps you to move more weight, and when it starts dropping they freak out.

Last off, it amuses me how many of you will knock this diet and Dave himself...a lot of self-appointed almighty guru's on here. Funny thing though, none of these self-appointed are making one red cent off of any of their advice.

Call bullshit on whatever you want. I witnessed it. He followed the diet exactly as it was laid out.

You said it was one of two things - I am lying or he didn't follow the diet. How about the third thing? This diet doesn't work on everyone which was this case. Do you think it is possible to lose 42 pounds in 1 month and not lose muscle? I doubt it.

Like I said before. This diet may work on some people but not on everyone. A diet needs to be tailored to an individual person and that wasn't done in this case.

One last thing. I am not knocking Dave as a person. I don't know the guy but I am questioning this diet. Bottom line is it doesn't work on everyone.
