I know two guys who had their prep done by Palumbo. One was a superheavyweight and one was a welter weight. He gave the same diet to both of the guys. How in the fuck can a superheavyweight diet on the same thing as a welterweight? Well they can't.
The superheavyweight lost 42 pounds in the first month of the diet. He kept telling Palumbo he was losing weight too fast and was told not to worry about it because it was mostly water. I watched the guys strength drop dramatically in one month with his squats going from 600 pounds for 8 reps down to 495 for 6 reps. Palumbo still wouldn't change anything. He was losing muscle fast.
Final results were a stringy, flat physique because Palumbo had him carb up on white rice. One cup to be exact. Yes, one cup of white rice was all the carbs he took in for the whole carb up. Is this guy fucking serious?
I am sure his crap works on some people. Problem is he uses a cookie cutter diet approach.
He is the very last person I would take dieting advice from.
Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on this. It's one of 2 things, either you're lying and just completely made this story up, or 2 your friend who Dave helped out, didn't actually follow Dave's Diet. If you're going to follow this diet you cannot cheat, you have to stay in ketosis, otherwise you're just screwing yourself...and this is out of Dave's control...and no, the set up cheat meal that is put in place on the diet is not what I mean by "cheating."
As far as strength, everyone on every type of diet loses some strength, steroids or not. Further, a lot of people negate the fact that extra water weight helps you to move more weight, and when it starts dropping they freak out.
Last off, it amuses me how many of you will knock this diet and Dave himself...a lot of self-appointed almighty guru's on here. Funny thing though, none of these self-appointed are making one red cent off of any of their advice.
