Bro...I hate to burst your bubble...but these "unique" machines you have "invented" have been around for YEARS.
Your leg extension, bicep curl, assisted chin/dip, etc.....are in just about every gym I've ever trained in, for many years now.
I'm sure your machines work just fine, but please...stop the "re-inventing the wheel, spiel".
bob you are an idiot.
Vince is describing mechanically subtle variations of machines that were designed to replicate older style free weight movements without considering the ability to make changes that only a machine can afford due to it not being constrained to just work in a plane acted upon by gravity.
but you wouldnt get this because you dont understand mechanics...which is why you posted that stupid dumbbell to Vince's first post...
FUNDAMENTAL to effective training and use of the body's energy reserves (which are finite) is to be able to apply intensity that is directly applied to the energy you have. If half of the exercise energy is wasted working through sub-optimal force vectors then you are robbing yourself of that precious reserve you have.
There is alot of merit in what Vince write about his machines but dumb-asses like yourself just cant grasp it as steroids have always allowed you to grow just by combing your hair- or applying your hair piece.
some people- the majority in fact, need to be smart about training. Having a seat below a pivot point is a great idea...however with respect Vince- a CAM arrangement is even better as it allows the user to move through points of weak mechanical leverage...im sure you'll agree.
To thos who dont ahve a clue about what im writing-thats fine...but if you insist on being a jerk about it just because you are blissfully ignorant then expect to look like a fool like Chic does here day in day out.
