this is an interesting shot, Danny is really, really in shape here and they are both about the same height, Franco's upperbody looks good but Danny's legs are sooooo much better...who wins in your opinion? I honestly don't see how they could justify giving Danny 5th. This is the whole body shot, there's another that's closer up but it doesn't really show the thighs all that well and the difference just stands out so much I thought this one would be better.

Franco had some qualities like density and areas like torso that were outstanding but overall Padilla wins. That he never beat Columbu speaks volume about the "fairness" of some of the contest results and hidden agendas behind the scenes.

If you could see all comparisions then Franco would own Danny. Franco didn't look his best by a long shot but his conditioning and upperbody were probably the best in the show.

In that shot Danny takes it. Franco's chest looks great - but his legs are pathetic.

a couple more shots from that show, note the difference in leg muscularity-I know Franco had a horrible accident involving his knee but should that be taken into account? I don't so.

Not a chance; Franco never had Padilla's overall size, and had several balance issues that Padilla never did. Columbu's legs were putrid, and arms never balanced against the torso. Better conditioning yes.

Franco was nowhere near as big AND didn't have Padilla's balance. Better density & leaness.

Much more importantly, he had Joe & Arnold working the strings.

I'd pick Dannys physique without hesitating.

Not sure if it's the posingtechnique, but Dannys chest looks bigger, but it may be because either his ribcage or that he is pushing it outwards while Franco isn't.

Padilla easily. Yes Franco had a better back, it was one of the best back then... but that shouldn't overshadow the fact that his legs sucked and balance and symmetry sucked (arms WAY too small for his body). So bad, that even though he had some leg size, they looked as soft as ever. Figuratively, I would consider him the Stubbs of the golden era without arms. He got a gift... just like Arnold at the 80 Olympia. Im sure that the fact that he was friends with Arnold and one of good ole uncle Joe's golden boys helped a little...
