That's a hard one to call because there are other factors beside pure athletic ability.

For example:

Q:  Who would you want leading your team on the final drive for the go ahead touch down?

A:  Montana.   He won the biggest games.  Elway lost in big games.

Q:  Who's more athletically gifted,  Aikman or Young

A:  Young.  But Aikman was more consistent as QB.

Q:  Who has better ratings and stats Brady or Manning?

A;  Manning.  But Brady has delivered when it counts.

Q:  Which QB's are good fantasy pics but not good if you're looking to see there team in the super bowl?

Fantasy:   Young, Manning, Elway.

Super Bowl:  Montana, Brady, Aikman.

Montana
Brady
Manning

Tommy has to win a few more to be the goat. Out of the three Tom has had the least offensive talent around him. Two words Antoine Smith, lol. Brady has a playoff record of 14 - 3 with 3 rings. While Manning is a fantastic qb, and a legit candid for the goat, he has always been surrounded by pro bowl players. From his offensive line to his rb. Brady had Smith Manning had edge. Brady has had three sets of average/subpar wr's. Manning had had two of the greatest of all time since for his carreer. Harrison is a first round hof no questions asked. Manning has always had the better o line, and the better weapons. Polian is a offensive wizard. I am not taking anything away from manning, but I would like to see him take Reche Caldwell , A past his prime Troy Brown, and a Jaber Gaffney all the way to the afc championship game. I cannot see him having the same type of stats during the season with Reche Caldwell/Gaffney running around out there. My main knock on Manning is not his skill. Talent wise he is prob the best to play the game, but what has he had to go through? When was he not put in the best offensive systems you could dream up? How many diff wr's/players has he won sb's with? Has he ever won with "average" wr's? How about dealing with injury? Did he ever toss teamates under the bus? How many of his best players did he lose to f/a or trade?Losing coaches and coordinators? Brady and manning are apples and oranges.

I agree.  Tom Brady has done it with sub par talent in many respects considering the talent Montana and Manning have and had.

(this is coming from a die hard Niner fan and a BIG time Montana fan.)

I am also a big Montana fan. As much as I love Tom he has some things to accomplish before he passes the goat Joe Montana. Statistically speaking Brady is on track to be right up there with Montana when he retires. The sb's will differentiate the two. Montana is the goat at this time. The guy was a amazing.

Manning had horrendous playoff stats this year throwing to two of the greatest receivers of all time. Recievers he has been working with forever. He had horrendus stats with a superior offensive line to the pats also. Why did he have a bad game in kc? They where not a good team. They did not even show up to play.

If manning could not win a sb with the best offensive talent around him for 6 consecutive years, how could you expect him to take his team to the afc championship game with a lesser offensive line, and a bunch of misfit wr's that never looked at a colts playbook until seasons start? Caldwell missed half of preseason as a rookie! As you know routes are based on timing and feel. Pretty hard to do those things if guys are missing preseason. The colts d stepped up and carried them during those first two games. Manning did not throw a single td in the Baltimore game. He threw ints not td's.

When Brady lost Branch and Givens you could see the drop off in his production. branch and G are not in the same league as Wayne and Harrison. If you replaced those two guys w Caldwell and Gaffney there would be a monster drop off. Caldwell is slow as shit. A big reason Toms stats where down was the fact Caldwell and co where to slow to create separation.

At the start of the season Caldwell and Gaffney where terrible. By then end of the season in the playoffs they where putting up massive numbers despite there shortcomings. Yea Caldwell muffed a pass that would have taken the pats to another sb, but as a whole his numbers where huge. His catch in the San D game was huge.To me that is more impressive then Manning taking athletic freaks of nature and making them better. People claim Manning makes his guys so much better. Take a look at a Harrison highlight real. The guy is a athletic freak. I am not saying manning is not great, but no one ever points out who he has been surrounded by his entire career.

when it comes to "the clutch" brady is overrated

he led his team down the field for about 30 yards for vinitieri to kick the winning field goal

people forget that in the super bowl against the panthers their dumbass kicker kicked the ball out of bounds placing the ball on the 40 yard line right before the pats winning drive

Explain how I'm wrong.

i didn't say you were wrong, I just didn't understand why you felt the need to point out that every guy in the nfl is better than every guy we saw in high school and how a player can't be overrated

He can be in as great a shape as he wants but there is no way he's faster now than he was in his early to mid twenties, sad to say.

He needs to do whatever it takes to stay ahead of the ageing curve. At 32 years old, he's entering his swan song as an NFL player.

But come to think of it....Ray will probably try to play into his late 30's because he loves the game SO MUCH. Crazy passion. I remember Clay Matthews from the Browns played into his 19th season and still was productive. I can say the same thing about Ray. Therefore, I think he'll always make it a point to be in great shape with little down time in the offseason.

As a lifelong Raider fan - until a few years ago - I always had a tremendous respect for Elway and pulled for his Bronco teams in their Super Bowl runs.  The guy was a competitor and even though the 'come from behind' stat can be highly overrated, he just had a knack for getting his teams in position to win.

I don't know that Brady has the same physical toughness, but he's as mentally tough as any QB I've seen in my lifetime...even if he did go to Michigan.

Plus the history of concussions.. They ended Troy Aikman's career..

Should have given Culpepper another shot.
